Stayed one night passing through Lyon. Hotel is in the business area not tourist area and has excellent facilities. Very comfortable King Bed, excellent room appointments with helpful and enthusiastic staff. Very good breakfast bar. Underground secure parking, free wifi and next door to a fantastic Italian restaurant provides great food and very entertaining staff. We will stay again.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel when compared to other hotels around the world. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and had all the basics needed for a short trip away. There was a constant noise of water running through pipes in our room on the 4th floor and it took a long time before we... More

Booked two double rooms allocated on 4th floor. My room was designated as non smoking, but that had not prevented the previous occupier from doing so. Room was not aired and still smelled bad on the second day. The room was basic and looking slightly tired and dated. Not a good location for those wanting to walk to local shops... More

We looked for a hotel that was more economic than big city central hotels, had parking spaces and good communications with the city centre - as well as being reasonably comfortable and well appointed. The Saphir Lyon is a five minute stroll from the commuter train station which is one stop from the old town and two stops from the... More

It was a disappointing experience for us unfortunately. All was great until we went to our room which was a triple. This so called triple room was a double and the beds were close to each other and you didn't have any space. You couldn't walk in the room properly. Also there was a funny smell. I think it was... We have been travelling through the UK and Europe for 4 weeks now and our 4 day stay at Saphir Lyon was very good compared to some of the previously high reviews we have seen for other places. Our booking could have been complicated as we had a night in the middle at a country French town but there was... More

Not 4 stars, but very nice and clean. The rooms are big, the staff is wonderful, parking is available and safe, hotel is not very big on amenities but for the price you are getting a very good deal. Location looks a bit scary but do not let that effect your decision to stay here. The hotel is one short... More

They really shouldn't advertise 'high speed Internet'. Maybe it was because we were on the 5th floor but the wifi was pretty much non existent. Wifi was one of the reasons we chose to stay here. The staff were really helpful and ordered us taxis and gave us directions and ease of travel tips.

We thankfully only stayed for one night here, the room smelt of damp and a very off odour, it was basic and the beds were passable but it just was grubby everywhere. It is only a two star and not a four star as advertised. The staff were helpful and polite however. The area outside was run down and some... More

This hotel was very disappointing. The only way to get any fresh air in the room was to open the window (which didn't help ventilate the bathroom at all). The room was also quite small. The most frustrating thing however was the poor internet performance. Not only was it slow, they had the nerve to block many sites from being... More
