We chose the Sofitel in Lyon to start our weektravelling down the Rhone and were very glad we did. The hotel is in a great location on the banks of the Rhone just two minutes fronm the main shopping area and five minutes walk from the old town. There are at least twenty places to eat in the area but... more

We drove to Lyon & spent 6 nights there (not wishing to use the car particularly in the city), so needed a central hotel with secure parking, & the Sofitel was a real gem. OK, so it's not cheap, but what a treat! Getting there was easy (literally 200 metres off the autoroute, which goes right through the centre of... more

Wonderful hotel with many contemporary touches in Lyon. The rooms while somewhat small have great touches and nice amenities.I wish Sofitel wouldn't charge for internet access and at the hotel prices it should be included however I do recommend the hotel if you want a contemporary experience. more

Excellent central location, including to the old town. (only about 10 minutes walk). The 8th floor bar with it's beautiful views was a great place for a bottle of champagne before dinner. Extremely comfortable beds, rainforest shower head, plus Hermes toiletries (bonus). Shared a twin room with a friend so the bathroom door that didn't quite close and was opposite... more

I stayed at this hotel for 2 days and had arrived with an upset stomach from something dodgy that I'd eaten. I rang reception to ask if there was a doctor nearby, and the concierge called me several times that morning to make an appointment and even to check that I was on my way. When I got down to... more

A friend and I stayed here for one night as a stop-over. We were both very exhausted but the staff were extremely friendly and the beds in the rooms were absolutely comfortable. I wished we had stayed longer. Parking was within the hotel property and costs approximately 20 Euro a day, quite reasonable compared to other hotels. Would definitely recommend... more

Lobby was under construction when I arrived, nevertheless, the room that I stayed the night made up for it. This hotel has a restaurant on the top floor overlooking one-third of Lyon; the view is breathtaking. Unfortunately, it was gloomy that Sunday morning. But, consider having dinner there… I bet it will be fantastic. What I love about Sofitel is... more

We were thoroughly impressed by, and pampered in, this hotel which is located on the River in a nice section of Lyon called Bellecour. The rooms were beautifully appointed, and at 210 euros, the Superior Room was good value by European standards (and especially compared to Paris). Additionally, the staff was outstanding. Sebastian at the front desk helped to organize... more

3 nights stay, very comfortable, superb feather beds and excellent sound insulation. Central location within a walk away from restaurants and shopping. DIdn't try breakfast at 26 euros which I find hard to swallow. 26E for a coffee and a croissant.!The staff were very pleasant and prompt service when we had a problem with the in room safe. Strange design... more

This hotel is located in the heart of Lyon and is very difficult to find. The streets are all one way and if you miss the hotel, you must circle around the block through traffic that is busy at all hours of the daytime. Avoiding pedestrians and taxi’s that drive somewhat chaotically is a challenge. Once you arrive, the hotel... more
