We were looking for a centrally situated affordable overnight stay in our travels through Lyon. Happily we found the refurbished Hotel Des Artistes, on the Place des Celestins opposite the Celestine Theatre. Hugely convenient to the shopping and sights of the city, yet a quiet street with the advantage of a hugely convenient parking garage across from the hotel. Elise... More

Arriving in Lyon by train on one of the hottest days on Long vacation. I thought that the Air B&B place my son picked out ( they live in Italy and travel extensively in the EU) was OK but wanted AC to ensure a better nights sleep. My son helped me look in the greater, very busy and very happening hood... More

Superb location, nice rooms, nice staff. Nothing fancy here but a clean comfortable room with a nice walk in shower and all the amenities one needs. The location is great for access to shopping, the old town, restaurants and Paul Bocuse food market. Situated on a beautiful town square it's also walking distance to the Perrache train station.

Stayed a night and the service and location was top notch. Right beside the hotel is the riverside where there's a quaint mini market of cheeses, saucission, and freshly cooked food. The staff were very friendly and accommodated our request for a late check out at 1330. Rooms were very spacious (though slightly old), bathrooms look recently renovated. Would stay... More

We just stayed three nights as tourists - first time after thirty years ago. We found all services very satisfactory. Clean, quiet, good security, helpful front desk. Breakfast simple and OK. Location is excellent - close to vieux Lyon, retail shops and tourist attractions. Desk provided good info on how to enter the underground public parking garage outside (expensive).

I stayed four nights in this centrally- located hotel, situated in the best area for shopping, an easy walk to wonderful restaurants and across from Vieux Lyon, just crossing one of the Saone bridges. The hotel is boutique, small, so ask for a room with balcony and view to the Place des Celestins, five minute-walk to rue Merciere and to... More

This hotel really exceeded my expectations. The location was outstanding, I did not have to use the metro once. The room was really quite nice. The elevator is very tiny but stairs were very easy. There was a bit of construction noise near by that might wake you up in the morning if your window is open. My main issue... More

This hotel is reasonably priced given the excellent location near Bellecour and the Old Town. The room was spacious, well appointed and comfortable. When I checked out I was very surprised to be charged €13.50 per person per night for a (very basic) breakfast. Had I realised , would have gone to any local café instead.

My wife and I spent four days there and found it to be an ideal location in Lyon. It was an easy walk to Vieux Lyon and the Soane. Hotel room was comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. It also was convenient and close to the Metro .

Ideally situated within walking distance to many of the highlights on both sides of the river. The staff are outstanding particularly Elise who went out of her way to ensure our stay was the best it could be. The hotel is small but really tastefully decorated. Not at all hotel chain like. A very French elevator makes an easy journey... More
