Stayed for 5 nights in room 36. Loved the superbly professional staff, the splendid breakfast buffet served until a very civilised 11am and the virtually private garden (accessed from our room). Less keen on the price of wine in the brassiere (7 euros for my one and only 125ml glass of house rose) but I suppose it was an optional... more

My partner and I stayed for two nights at the Cour des Loges hotel, situated in the medieval section of Lyon (Vieux Lyon) in May 2009. We booked through Booking.com at EUR316 per night. The location of the hotel is in the middle of Vieux Lyon, and within walking distance to the Prequ'Ile sector. Vieux Lyon is beautiful, very medieval... more

Okay, so this hotel isn't for everyone, as you will see by the mixed reviews. We stayed there on a 50th anniversary trip and loved it. It is based on the courtyard that is surrounded by four ancient apartment buildings. The glassed-in courtyard serves as the lobby and dining room. The rooms are off the balconies of those old buildings.... more

We got a mezzanine room (the cheapest, at 250 euros, breakfast not included). The room was small and hot (in May). There's no air conditioning. When we noted this, the receptionist indicated that there was a ventilator. She also said that those rooms are intended for single occupancy. Overall, the only positive thing was the spa. You can definitely find... more

We stayed at this hotel as I had heard of it, and thought it had a good reputation. The plus points: it is conveniently located, the service is good, and it is a definitely a unique, beautiful setting. But I found a lot of the decoration had been done on the cheap, and everything looked tired. The painting was chipped... more

My family and I stayed at this hotel following a wonderful few days at the blissful Auberge de Chassignolles in the Auvergne where we enjoyed simple but honest hospitality and extraordinary food.We decided to spend our last night in Lyon and based on the website and other reviews decided to go with the Cour des Loges. The hotel is situated... more

After a luxury break at New Year last year in Lille, we decided to repeat in another city. Cour des Loges seemed an obvious choice with its location and reviews. My problem was that it knows it's the best hotel of its type in Lyon - it's in all the guide books and gets plenty of high-end visitors. We stayed... more

A World Heritage site, a 14th-16th century convent, the whole concept and website photos appealed to us. At check in the hotel seems wonderful. It actually looks very nice. The staff is helpful and the conciergerie - as we would find out later - are proud of their work and have superb suggestions. That is it! Wait till you enter... more

We stayed at the Cour des Loges for 5 nights and loved every second of it. It was exactly what I expected when we arrived. Our room was so cozy and clean and it smelled soooooo good. Not sure what they use, but the room always smelled like a good candle. The bedding was all white with green velvet pillows... more

Having read that this hotel is made up of 4 centuries-old buildings and is considered one of the best in Lyon, I booked a room so that my husband and I could enjoy a luxurious and comfortable stay during our first visit to Lyon. Unfortunately, in this case style trumps function. Our room was up some stairs and then down... more
