Le Boulevardier is a French hôtel in the best sense. It is not your modern, slick monolith, it has character and atmosphere and makes the best of the centuries old building. It is in a wonderful location for exploring the city, opposite the St Nizier church, with a number of small squares, cafes and restaurants close by and supermarkets around... More

The room was lovely (the walls are from the 15th century!) and the bathroom was very modern and nice. There was no parking, but there were many (expensive) public lots nearby. The location is incredible (right on the peninsula!) and our room had a view of Saint-Nizier, which is across the street from the hotel. Lugging our large bags up... More

Booked here on Lonely Planet recommendation. Apart from its excellent location in the centre of Lyon between the Rhone and Saone rivers, I can't say much else. No parking available which was a problem as we had a car. The front bar, when you can get breakfast, better elsewhere, is quirky as is the stair case in the hotel. Our... More

Let me start by saying - the "property" is not terrible, but our experience was. Our room was small, clean, and minimal, but what I expected for 69 euros. The bathroom was recently renovated and very nice. The street was very noisy and since there was no A/C, we left the window open which didn't make for a restful night's... More

Hotel Boulevardier Location - Good central location between the saone and rhone rivers to explore Lyon by foot. Cheap taxi ride to and from Gare Part Dieu station. About 45 minutes and 60 euros by taxi to the airport. Hotel & Room - Quirky old style building atop a pretty cool little bar (also where breakfast, good value at 6... More

We booked it after reading TA reviews. We weren't disappointed. This hotel has a great history and has original wooden beams (in bar) with extraordinary high celings. Cedric, owner is a keen collector of vintage pieces, as you will see in the cafe/reception. You can drink your coffee sitting on a ski seat from the 70s! How cool is that?... More

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We stayed in this hotel in July 2013 booking a room via the Internet exchanging a few emails with Cedric. When we arrived we received a friendly welcome but were disappointed that Cedric was not there, on holiday, however the plus point was that we were offered a parking space right outside the hotel. We had worked out that parking... More

This hotel is in one of the easiest to find locations I've ever stayed in in a major city, look for the biggest church spire from any part of the city centre and you've found it. That in itself would be enough to recommend this lovely, quirky hotel. The building is very old but is still comfortable and the bed... More

I stayed in this hotel in February 2013. Had a room for 3 adults (one double and one single bed) on the first floor. Location is excellent and owner Cedric is a gentleman. Room and shower are top class & great value given the low cost per room. Will stay there again, which says it all in my book. Thanks... More
