The Apart' Observatoire Saint Jean came highly recommended via the Lonely Planet guide for France. It did not disappoint! Yes, there are a lot of stairs, but it seems everything in Lyon is uphill. I just viewed it as a welcome opportunity to walk off all of the wonderful pastries I was eating at La Marquise every day. :) Beatrice... More

We stayed at the Apart'Observatoire Saint Jean for 5 nights in the Cote Ouest apartment. Overall, it had some excellent advantages, but some problems as well. Advantages: 1) Location - absolutely excellent! Right next to the Cathedral, walking distance from the Roman Ruins, 2 minutes walk from the Metro, right off the river... couldn't ask for a better location. There... More

I cannot begin to imagine where the fabulous reviews of this place came from. The place is a complete mess with massive stair climb with luggage, no climate control except a frozen bottle of water to put in a dehumidified. Bathroom is down a long and dangerous stairway from the bedroom. Two sets of church bells are sure to keep... More

We just spent four nights in the smaller of the two apartments. I loved it from the second we walked in. Such a romantic little apartment. The shower was the best we've had in France. Beatrice was a wonderful hostess, it was important to her that we had a good time in Lyon, she recommended restaurants, places to buy meat,... More

We spent 5 nights in the Cote Sud apartment and it was absolutely perfect. The apartment was spacious, the bed was comfortable and all of the facilities particularly the washing machine provided everything you could possibly need for a short or long stay. We were very pleased with the location right in the heart of Vieux Lyon overlooking the Cathedral... More

We stayed for 2 nights in Cote Sud. Unfortunately my husband was sick the entire time we were in Lyon. Beatrice was extremely helpful to us, always available by email when I didn't want to walk the many stairs just to ask a question. She offered to help us with a doctor and gave us medicine. She even invited me... More

Stayed 3 nights in Cote Sud. Both Beatrice and her husband were extremely gracious and helpful hosts.Very central position in Vieux Lyon.Easy access to Metro if needed but much to see and do within walking distance. There is a small supermarket close by and I also went to the market on Quai des Celestins across the river for meat, fruit and... Wonderfully quirky and very comfortable Inn. Exceptionally beautiful location with views of St Jean & Notre Dame de Fourviere cathedrals from the flat. The owners Beatrice and her husband were so nice and helpful. We were on the 5th floor, there are no elevators and they helped us with our very heavy luggage. The bedroom was very comfortable church bells ringing... More

We stayed two nights in the Cote Ouest apartment. The location of the apartment is fantastic - right in the heart of the old city. It is also possible to walk to other parts of the city. Not far is Rue du Boeuf which has a great selection of restaurants. The apartment is very small, comprised of three areas: the... More

Have just enjoyed a 3 night stay at Cote Sud with a group of 3. We found the position most convenient arriving by train the metro is a short walk across the front of the cathedral to the apartment. I would agree with others that it is not the place to stay if you have mobility issues, but we found... More
