This wonderful boutique hotel was such a find. I had selected it because of its superb location - only having 2 nights in Lyon, I thought it would allow us maximum time to explore the Old Town (which it did). However, to be honest, I thought we might sacrifice comfort for quirkiness and location. How wrong I was! Very comfortable... More

We stayed here for just one glorious night. The room is located in the old centre, behind the medieval Tour Rose. The room was filled with antiques. It was incredible - I spent a lot of time just looking at them. The room was very clean and comfortable, with two Queen-size beds, one on a mezzanine floor (perfect for the... More

I stayed here for two days during my 58 day trip through Europe. The hotel is well located and the owner is very helpful. He is a very talented photographer. Breakfast is a couple of blocks away at a bakery which opens at 8AM. Two pastries, juice and coffee. This did not compare well to breakfasts at other BnBs at... More

This is a very eclectic lodging. The rooms are jammed with very interesting pieces and photos, and Jean was an excellent source of information about Lyon. If you stay in the room at the top of the stairs, across from the tower, duck down getting out of bed or you'll hit head on the fabulous beam that runs across the... More

A gorgeous room and location - something really special that you'll always remember. Frederic was very flexible and helpful. We stayed as a family of four for one night. Two nights would have been better as we would have had more time to explore. More than that and the limitations on storage space and parking might have created difficulties and... More

We have stayed here a couple times now and absolutely adore it, everything is so centrally located and the place itself, while a bit ecclectic, is fun and different. Cant wait to go back, see you soon Frederic!

A great find. Comfortable, spacious room in one of the most beautiful buildings of Vieux Lyon. Frederic Jean, the owner and well know local photographer, is Lyon born so knows everything you need to know too, and generous with tips as to where to eat and what to do, the upshot being you feel more in touch with the place.The... If you are seeking a hotel room with all the standard comforts then this place may not fit the bill. We found the rooms spacious and couldn't be located more conveniently in the old part of town. The beds were a bit uncomfortable and some hanging space for clothes would have been helpful, but we didn't mind too much. The... More

Location could not have been better, right in the middle of the old town, so yes I would recommend staying here even though I did have one or two complaints. Our arrival time was not negotiable which I did find a bit unreasonable, especially as no explanation was given prior to our arrival, we then discovered the reason was that... More

I booked the Artelit based on the positive reviews here on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. The booking process was via email with the owner, Frederic, and went very smoothly. He does require one night's deposit upon booking, but accepts PayPal making this a simple process. Old Lyon is just beautiful and the Artelit lets you really feel like... More
