We had an evening in Grenoble on our way home from Courchevel. We wanted a hotel close ot the train and bus station. The Ibis Grenoble Gare is very close, and it was perfect. It was a good basic travelers hotel with a kind staff that allowed us to eat our breakfast early in order for us to make our...

As value for money this would be hard to beat - ca £130 for 2 people bed abd breakfast for 3 nights. The rooms are comfortable and adequately spacious, and, in our case, a splendid view over the Isere. The first troom we were put in stank of stale cigarette smoke, but we were moved with no fuss - maybe...

This was the worst IBIS hotel we've never seen around Europe (France, Spain, Germany, Portugal and England).
During the check-in (we payed in advance the room), none has offered us the private parking of the hotel and, after a couple of hours, we've discovered the existance of it: we've travelled with our motorbike and this option could be acceptable for...

Typical Ibis hotel; functional, clean, not very expensive. Close to train station. Seems like a safe neighborhood. If getting there by car, it's 8 euros/day for parking in their garage; street parking must be paid for as well (if available). Many places to eat nearby but no supermarkets.
Only 5 or 10 min walk to old town so location was great. The rooms are a little bit tired but perfectly functional. If you just need a hotel to sleep in I would recommend it. If you want something to spend a bit more time in or relax you may be better off spending a little more.
Pros: Nice view of the mountains across the river
Cons: wasn't offered option of a non-smoking room, noisy air conditioner, bar is really just a weird sort of extension to the reception desk, breakfast poor.
Many better options available: this place technically ticks all the boxes to qualify for its 2 stars, and wasn't dirty or unhygienic, but was fairly...

close to the station, friendly service, rooms are basic and bathroom clean. Broken door into our room and air conditioning very loud even when switched off.
A five minute walk from the station which is good for arriving and departing. A quick and interesting walk to most places in the city. The room was large, very clean and so was the bathroom. The best part was the staff. The guys at the desk were very helpful and made me feel welcome. It means a lot.
Ibis Greboble Gare is a good hotel let down by a poorly designed and maintained bathroom. Good points first. The position is great, with spectacular views over the river to the mountains. It's a easy 5-minute walk to any number of good restaurants. Desk service was good too. The room was the usual Ibis deal, functional and practical is about...
