We chose this hotel largely from the good reports we read in trip advsor and the French guide book Petit Futé. Our stay was very pleasant and I would recommend the Verniaz to others. The purpose of our visit was to explore the local area and enjoy some good food and so we took the cheaper, non-lakeside rooms in the... more

This is an extremely attractive property and is perfect for an authentic french country inn experience. The outdoor spaces are beautiful. The service is formal yet friendly and extremely attentive. The room facing the lake was traditionally styled with a very modern and quite large bathroom. Unfortunately, the bed was not as comfortable as I would have hoped (slightly lumpy)... more

Hotel much nicer than shown on own web site. Good location above Evian with nice view on the lake. Room was OK (in chalet, not in main building), classical furniture, nothing exceptional. No lift in the Chalets (2 floors) Nice and polite staff Very good restaurant more

La Verniaz is family run and this shows in the attention to detail and the warm welcome. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Service in the restaurant was very slow on the evening we dined there - there were two large parties in the dining room and that seemed to hold things up - but there was... more

Took my family (husband and 2 boys ages 7 and 10) to this property and stayed 5 nights. Had an adjoining join room which worked well; rooms were spacious and well appointed. Bathrooms were also well appointed and very clean and up to date. Very nice continental breakfast is served in the mornings with enough choice for everyone. Service, across... more

Lovely people, friendly atrmosphere, pretty gardens (very dog-friendly -- they have their own meadow to romp in), smart pool and really, seriously good food and wine. Nice mix of guests, from young families to the elderly. All in all, very good value. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, if a little dated, but well-serviced. We chose a mountain view (very pretty),... more

Perfection in every way from the friendly welcome and professional staff, to the charming room and the beautiful view over the tree tops to Lake Geneva in the distance. A wonderful restaurant and grill with excellent cuisine - the best you'll find anywhere. Aside from a superb location, the standout feature of this property is the caring, yet unobtrusive staff... more

Though Evian is a spa town that has seen its better days, we loved this charming Relais et Chateaux hotel and its tranquil location above the town. Our reasonably priced (about 150 Euros/night) standard room was on the small side but featured lovely mint green walls with white woodwork, flowered curtains, and a balcony with a view of the lake.... more
