My wife and I had a wonderful week here. As other reviewers have said, the hotel delivers everything it holds out to do. Breakfast was good, rooms well sized for alpine and very quite and the evening meal was lovely. However what makes this hotel great are the staff who were always friendly and trying to ensure your stay is... More

The hotel does exactly what it says on the tin. Good value, adequate accommodation with easy access to skiing. Flexible, friendly staff, nice bar, good wifi. What more could anyone wish for. Our third stay and we will be back for a fourth. As they say in French, "formidable".

I read other reviews and they seem fair. My room was of a reasonable size (particularly by Alpine standards), was clean, comfortable with plenty of storage. Ensuite had a bath (great for skiers) and a separate loo. TV was mainly French (naturally) with BBC world news the only reasonable English channel. Wi-fi was consistently good. All the staff were very... More

We booked Les Ancolies as part of a week long ski holiday with Crystal Ski. We picked this hotel because Crystal describes it as "ski virtually to the door". Well, that is being somewhat economical with the truth. The publicity picture makes it appear to be right by the piste but this isn't in fact so. Les Ancolies is above... More

Agree with many of the reviews of this hotel - conveniently located to all the local skiing facilities, a good price for a comfortable room and very friendly staff. "Parfait", thanks for a good stay :)

Great hotel. Food was always very good. Was not exactly ski in/ski out. Bit of a slope down to the hotel. Drying room was small and narrow but was not to busy when I was there. 1550 was very quiet. No problem getting on to the lifts in the morning.

The website does not make it clear, but for those travelling by bus, you should get off at the Courchevel 1550 stop and then it is just up the hill on the right. Though it is possible to walk straight onto the piste from the front door at the *beginning* of the day, this is the toboggan piste and so... More

I was invited to lunch last week at Les Ancolies by a friend and had a very pleasant meal. We both had the Salade Perigordine as an entree and then scallops on a bed of sweet-potato* with gambas for the main course- first time I had tasted that particular vegetable*. My friend chose a Bourgueil to accompany our meal and... More

We stayed for 3 nights in Feb 14. It's a charming, reasonably-priced hotel in an otherwise stupidly expensive resort. We had rooms in the basement which were perfectly adequate (the upper floors have balconies I think). The food was good, the hotel bar was cheaper than in the resort, and the ambience was very good. What made this so, and... More

The hotel is certainly well run, clean and by Courchevel standards reasonable value. It is more or less ski in-ski out (once you find the slightly obscure return path), and the ski rental places and 1850 lift are about 5 minutes away. On the downside, it is pretty small - rooms with a 3rd bed have almost no floorspace left,... More
