The Le Chamois Blanc was such a disappointment and rip off for the €550 per week. The desk staff told me the room was ready and on arrival I discovered there were no sheets on the bed, no towels and the "house rules" for departure on the back of the door stated that you had to clean the apartment yourself,... Dear Taz084, We are sorry to notice that there were apparently incomprehensions concerning your stay in our Maeva residence. Being a residence with self catered apartments, our services are different from those of a hotel. Furthermore, on our Maeva website the inclusive or "à la carte" services are clearly specified. Only sheets are included in the rent of the apartments.... More

Although advertised as apartments for 4, this so clearly not unless you are looking for cheap accommodation. apartments were clean and warm and the location is just opposite the main bus station which is a huge plus, it is also relatively close to the city center so great for going out. The size and the quality of the apartment leaves... More

Positives: The apartment we stayed at was clean, warm and in a very convenient location across the road from a bus stop taking people to all possible ski lift destinations. The kitchenette was well equipped for domestic use, however all the essentials had to be bought from scratch starting from paper towels, salt/peppers / dish washing liquid, soap and toilet... More

Check in was terrible as reception only opened at 5pm so all travelers checking in that day were waiting at the same time. Process was incredibly slow. He car park we had pre booked was 'unavailable' and we had to find our own parking in the street and walk back to the hotel. The sofa bed we had requested was... More

It felt like being in Prison. They give you a long list of things that you need to do on checking out including cleaning and hoovering your room and bathroom, putting the bedding away, taking the dirty sheets to reception etc. Outrageous. If I new that I would not have paid the €500 for the week. It was only worth... More

Having wanted to go on a snowboard trip for over 10 years I finally decided to do it, left my friend to book it for us all and, after harbouring thoughts of staying in a cosy little cabin in the middle of a French winter wonderland, I was surprised when we were dropped off outside the Residence Maeva. Even more... More

We stayed st the Chamois Blanc apartments last week in a superior 5 person apartment, £12 more than a standard room. Was well worth the money as it only cost us just over £20 per night. The room was small but easily fitted 4 of us in, would have been a bit cramped with 5. I really don't know what... More

This is one of the worst places I have stayed. Bed linen was polyester blankets that gave excellent static shock. 'Superb amenities,TV' = 12 inch black and white TV with a fuzzy picture. 'Exemplary self-catering facilies' = dirty little kitchen which you wouldn't want to eat in. It was one room with a partition as thin as cardboard not a... More

Clean rooms, free undercover parking and walking distance from the main shopping area in Chamonix. This is affordable accommodation and you get what you pay for. No free wifi, you need to clean up your room before checkout to avoid penalty charges and we slept on a sofa bed. However, it's what you expect for the price you are paying... More

The Maeva group have 3 or so residences all within close proximity in Chamonix and the reception is all run from the one building. Upon check-in, we were not even told or shown where our building was and when we asked, we were brushed off with a general wave in the direction of where the building was and left to... More
