While the hostel is relatively cheap for the location - there are many downsides and I won't be returning for the following reasons: - The room I stayed in was filthy - it wasn't cleaned the whole week I was there - The 'kit room' which is actually a gardening shed - is not accessible until 7:45am - not good... Although the owner was very friendly and welcoming the premises and facilities need to be addressed.. Paying to use kitchen in a hostel is not what I expected, dirty shower cubicles, the bar closes at 10am then opens at 4.30pm so no where to sit or relax in day apart from shared dorm, wifi is free, but can only use... We were expecting simple, hostel-style living and they delivered. We had a small double on the second floor, #2. It opened on to a communal balcony with amazing views. Make a note if you want to cook, there was no cooking knife in the kitchen, so bring your own. Also I wished I'd had some salt. The sleeping areas were... More

I have stayed here on many occasions but sadly won't be going back. Initially struggled to get a place as they lost my telephone booking. Not a good start and it went down hill from there. The place was virtually empty and I can see why. To say the place is tired is an understatement. Good location but the bar... More

Pleasantly surprised by the B&B, great value for money, the location is brilliant, 400 meters away from the bus stop and just a short walk away from one of the main streets, very good conditions inside the B&B, very clean, a small boot room behind the B&B, very useful if you want to keep skis bags boots etc. Overall great... I stayed at the Vagabond for three nights in March. The hostel is in a great location just 5 mins walk to the ski buses and also the same to town. The hostel has a good atmosphere with a great bar downstairs. the rooms are as you would expect for a hostel couple of bunk beds in ours and four... More

Vagabond is dirt cheap and the price of your bed includes an evening meal. It is reasonably well situated, being around the corner from the bus stop (almost every location in Chamonix requires you to get a bus to the slopes). There is a little pub downstairs which is busy, cosy and a pretty good shout. You must however share... More

The bar was cheaper than in the centre, probably the cheapest accommodation in Cham. You can't really complain about the size of the dorms when the cost is so cheap. We stayed for 3 nights - very helpful and friendly staff & relaxed atmosphere.

My first impressions of this place were not too bad. The dorm rooms are small and not clean but this is less noticeable due to the darkwood. There is a sink in each room but there are no sinks in thr bathrooms and no soap provided....a hygiene issue with multiple people sharing. The showers were adequate but also not clean... More

the hostel has a great location, the bar is pretty popular even with locals the dorm would appreciate a bit of upgrade - get some shelves rather than keeping stuff on floor which have hasnt been cleaned for a while...same for showers....also it would be great to have these plastic bed cover sheets washed from time to time.... the wifi...
