We were happy here because the staff was helpful, the building is old and solid, the rooms were comfortable, the croissants were delicious, the location was perfect, and the elegance and style were so French and wonderful. Also the advice we received from the staff was unerring.

We picked this hotel because of its central location and price. We left loving it because of its amazing personnel, service, closeness to everything from busses to take you all around the valley, and restaurants in the centre of Chamonix. The people working the front desk is a colorful bunch if characters and they are all super nice and helpful.... More

Lovely family run hotel in the centre of Chamonix. Bus stop just behind the hotel that services the whole valley/skiing areas. Not the most modern of hotels but very quirky in it's own unique way. Would definitely return.

Being a solo traveller, it's always difficult to get a good deal as not many hotels have single rooms (or want to charge a ridiculous loading for single occupancy of a double room), however I got a good price for a single room at the Richemond with a late deal from Inghams via Chaletline which was £451 for a week... Me and a friend booked this as a cheap 4 night getaway for his 40th. It is dated inside, with much of the furniture now looking mismatched or out dated. That said, it had an authentic feel about it. The staff were very friendly. Everything is very clean although on first glance it looks messy, because of the furniture and... More

The staffs were friendly and helpful with where to go for skiing and places to visit in chamonix. However, note that wifi is payable per room. It's a pretty old building but decent. Right in the city.

We picked the based on reviews from other hikers who have done the Tour of Mont Blanc. We were driving a rental car and had a little difficulty finding the hotel via our GPS. The parking is located in the back of the hotel and you can bring your luggage in through a door in the back by the parking... More

Built in 1914 is one of the oldest hotels in Chamonix managed by the 3rd generation of the same family. There is a lift. The bathroom was modern. The room was very clean, comfortable, tastely renovated by preserving the authentic furniture of 20's -quaint. View on glaciers and the pics of Alps [upper floors]. Very romantic. The location on the... More

The Richemond is a genuinely traditional hotel. The room was a good size and well equipped. Staff we encountered were all very attentive and extremely polite. The location of the hotel, in central Chamonix, is second to none.

We arrived in Chaomonix at the end of our hike along Alta Via 2 and were looking for a cheap and comfortable stay. We tried a few others but they were all full - surprising at the end of September - so we settled on the Richemond which at 92 Euros for bed and no breakfast seemed rather expensive. We... More
