Booked on short notice on a tour with my convertible through the French Alpes and along the Côte D´Azur, my aim was to find good midrange room in the center of the village/city with a locked garage or parking area for my (valuable) car. The last was the hardest to evaluate on my daily search, therefore I highlight this point.... More

Great view of the Mont Blanc BUT bar-pub across is +++++ loud and noisy. Even closed windows do not bar the partying sounds... Not for a good night's sleep & rest ! Most staff at desk not particularly friendly or informative re good restaurants, etc... Breakfast buffet is good ; large washroom a +.

The positives: Very friendly and welcoming staff, and excellent location right near the train station which is central to everything Chamonix has to offer. Excellent buffet breakfast. Very comfortable and clean rooms. The negatives: At 10 euros per person in addition to the room price we thought breakfast a little expensive, but the Chamonix region is pricey. Wifi not that... The moment I entered this hotel I understood that I was going to like it. Mainly because of all the professional and super nice personnel. At all times they were glad, happy, jokingly and above all being very service minded and solution focused. Whether be it me not eating carbs and having to change the pre-set menu or me returning... We stayed in the Gustavia for 3 nights whilst we did some hiking and trail running around Chamonix. The location is great (nothing in town was more than 10 minutes walk away) and although rooms aren't particularly flash, they were more than adequate for what you need (we had long days hiking and running so we only seemed to be... I have stayed at this hotel a few times and I will come back because of the great food, a stunning view of Mont Blanc and of course its great location in Chamonix. The staff is very friendly and help you out with almost anything. The rooms are ok, not great but fine. If the wifi had been working I... More

Location is good, but the hotel needs an update. Plus, with so many bars and restaurants nearby, getting a good night's rest is tough. If you decide to stay here, bring earplugs! We were told we had a room with a view. Well, if you consider a view of the wall of the building next door, you'll score. Personally, I... More

Gustavia has awesome , helpful and very knowledgeable staff. We are a couple (aged 40) who climb and love to travel. This is a very central hotel, 5 mins from both main streets of Chamonix and 5 mins from the Cable car up to Aguilles du Midi. Its got varying rooms in terms of size, some mountain facing, some not... This hotel in summer is a walkers/climbers hotel, no frills. It is in a perfect location for the station, Montenvers railway, and Midi cable car, a fair walk for Planpraz lift however. The hotel is clean and the breakfast is superb, and the dinner was fine. The only downside was a drain smell in the bathroom together with some noise from... More

We arrived about 8.30.p.m. having been delayed by the French Rail strike. We had booked a double/twin room but were allocated a single room by the well meaning but totally inefficient receptionist. We had to go down and tell him it was a single and he proceeded to get a bed to put in the room. I Can only describe... More
