We have stayed at this hotel on 3 occasions for long weekends during the ski season. It is expensive but you do get what you pay for. The service is excellent, the food truly exceptional and the rooms are perfect. When you have been skiing all day this is the perfect hotel to return to for some relaxation - spa,followed... More

Nothing better in Chamonix after a long day in the mountains than to dip into the pool at Hameau Albert for a quick swim, with fantastic views of Mont Blanc. Maybe a drink by the pool. Then an excellent dinner in one of the two equally great, but totally differently priced, restaurants. Breakfast is also a true treat (especially charming... More

My wife and I have been returning to Le Hameau for more than 10 years. It remains one of our favorite destinations, for several reasons: (1) the summer hiking in Chamonix is among the best available, with walks on both sides of the valley at low, medium or high altitudes. (2) The hotel is lovely. We take a room in... More

Chamonix was our last stop of a hiking trip across Switzerland, but not a "roughing" it trip by any means. Le Hameau is lovely enclave about 2 blocks from the city center and a Relais et Chateau. Sebastien picked us up at the train station and we knew we were in good hands. He showed us around town on our... More

We stayed at the Hameau Albert 1er during our hiking trip in Chamonix in July 2014. The hotel offers a spectacular view over the Mont Blanc massive and is situated just by the centre of the town. The service was good, breakfast had just what we wanted and we really appreciated the pool area for lazy afternoons in the sun.... More

The setting was stunning once you got onto the grounds. Sebastian was extremely nice and helpful in every way. The "regular" restaurant was excellent and fairly priced. The Michelin starred one was crazy expensive and not worth the prices....$120 lobster entree. The chicken was only $85. They want you to stay for 4+ hours and have 15 courses. They seems... More

We spent four nights here in early May. As the previous reviewer has stated the main building and the restaurant were closed for renovations. We stayed in the La Ferme chalet. Also it was the change over from winter season to summer. The hotel was nearly empty during our stay (I think one night there was 6 other rooms occupied... More

We had a great experience at Le Hameau Albert 1er this winter. On the plus side, the hotel offers free shuttle service to and from the ski slopes which is very convenient. The breakfast buffet is quite ample. The staff is generally courteous and helpful. However, there were definitely small things that make this hotel not quite the 5-star experience... More

We spent one night in a Prestige room in Le Ferme on a rainy Sunday in May. The room was offered to us by the Hotel on a 50% discount at 24 hours notice on their Last Minute Escapes deal. However, the discount was given on the high season tariff rather than the shoulder season cost. Nevermind, the difference was... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the foot of mont Blanc, Pierre Carrier, Perrine and Grand Chef Pierre Maillet have taken over this hotel, devoted to exceptional cuisine and local delicacies, founded in 1903 by 'great grandfather Carrier'. The rooms in the main hotel or the chalets in the garden offer both modern and warm comfort. On the one hand, there is the superb menu at the Albert 1er with its elaborate recipes influenced by the Piedmont and Liguria and, on the other, the Maison Carrier restaurant with its specilaities to be enjoyed in the atmosphere of an old farmhouse or on the terrace while gazing out at the majestic beauty of mont Blanc. The indoor/outdoor swimming pool also boasts views of the eternal snows on the roof of Europe. An equally stunning and delicious address for winter or summer stay. ... more   less
