Chamonix was our last stop of a hiking trip across Switzerland, but not a "roughing" it trip by any means. Le Hameau is lovely enclave about 2 blocks from the city center and a Relais et Chateau. Sebastien picked us up at the train station and we knew we were in good hands. He showed us around town on our... More

We stayed at the Hameau Albert 1er during our hiking trip in Chamonix in July 2014. The hotel offers a spectacular view over the Mont Blanc massive and is situated just by the centre of the town. The service was good, breakfast had just what we wanted and we really appreciated the pool area for lazy afternoons in the sun.... More

The setting was stunning once you got onto the grounds. Sebastian was extremely nice and helpful in every way. The "regular" restaurant was excellent and fairly priced. The Michelin starred one was crazy expensive and not worth the prices....$120 lobster entree. The chicken was only $85. They want you to stay for 4+ hours and have 15 courses. They seems... More

We spent four nights here in early May. As the previous reviewer has stated the main building and the restaurant were closed for renovations. We stayed in the La Ferme chalet. Also it was the change over from winter season to summer. The hotel was nearly empty during our stay (I think one night there was 6 other rooms occupied... More

We had a great experience at Le Hameau Albert 1er this winter. On the plus side, the hotel offers free shuttle service to and from the ski slopes which is very convenient. The breakfast buffet is quite ample. The staff is generally courteous and helpful. However, there were definitely small things that make this hotel not quite the 5-star experience... More

We spent one night in a Prestige room in Le Ferme on a rainy Sunday in May. The room was offered to us by the Hotel on a 50% discount at 24 hours notice on their Last Minute Escapes deal. However, the discount was given on the high season tariff rather than the shoulder season cost. Nevermind, the difference was... More

You should definitely visit the starred restaurant. The food is excellent, and the service generally good. The hotel however doesn't really deliver. We knew the location would not be great - as the hotel is sandwiched between a busy bypass road and railway line, overlooking the dreadful architecture of the national ski school. (But the walk to the centre is... More

Our first White Christmas in the French Alps was a beautiful and luxurious treat at Albert Premier in Chamonix. Our room in the Chalet complex adjoining the heated pool and spa was classy and spacious, with a stunning view of Mont Blanc. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom beautiful. I've stayed in the world's best hotels and this... More

We booked a few weeks before leaving and there was very limited availability, so we took the one room available (chambre classique) for three nights. The room is designed with dark wood so the room lacked warmth and it felt a little smaller than 23sqm. I suspect the rooms in the Ferme are worth paying the extra for. Service was... More

We stayed at the Le Hameau Albert 1er in their suite "3" Aug/Sept 2013 for 7 days. It had a large bedroom with a sitting area, along with a small day bed. There was a stocked mini bar that was re-filled every day, a jet bathtub, an updated shower, small area to hang up technical gear and 2 closets. This... More
