Pros: -This hotel has hands down the best location if you want to explore old town Annecy. It is smack dab in the middle of everything. -We stayed in their nicest room and it was great- beautiful huge windows, views of the castle and the lake, a little balcony and a comfy bed. -All the staff was very nice and... more

I had chosen this hotel based on the positive reviews received on this site and the room looked nice on the website. As it was a belated honeymoon and my husbands birthday I decided to push the boat out and I booked their second best room - best room already booked. It was awful. It was totally overpriced - €225... more

My husband and I spent the weekend in Annecy and chose the Palais Hotel because we we looking for a central location at a cheap(ish) rate. We were pleasantly surprised at the amazing location. Really, it's smack-dab in the middle of town and even the side rooms have nice views of the old town below. As some people have mentioned,... more

We visited Annecy for 2 nights in February for a short break to explore the region, combining our trip with a 1 night visit to Montreux in Switzerland. Annecy was a quick 30min drive from Geneva airport on the new motorway (though it took us 75mins to queue up for our pre-booked hire car - half term madness!). We found... more

Difficult to find made more difficult by a gal at the desk who had not developed a simple “find us” plan. But as the name suggests it is beside the palace on a little island in the canal. The hotel is basic at the edge of the lovely old town. The room was tiny with a small bed, AC and... more

The hotel web site warned us it would be hard to find, and they were right. Even using our car's GPS system, we had trouble finding it once we got to the old town/city center. So we decided to just park and start walking. We went a couple blocks toward the canal, crossed one of the bridges and looked up... more

We stayed in Annecy as a side trip on our way from Geneva to Nice. A little awkward on the train, but the town was well worth the journey. We had no problem finding the hotel (print off the pdf map from the hotel website) and dragged our luggage from the train station. The hotel is right on the canal... more

We stayed here on our way back to the Geneva airport, which is just a short drive away. As with many old European cities, you will want to print out a detailed map beforehand to help navigate your way through the labyrinth of streets. Once there we were surprised by the contrast of the old medieval exterior and the modernist... more

I booked three rooms directly with the hotel for six of us travelling to the Alps. Booking directly with them on their website is easy. After a long drive, it is great to be able to drive directly to the door to drop off the luggage. Parking is free in the carpark by the police station 2 mins away. I... more

The location of this hotel is the best in Annecy. Situated right in the heart of the old town on the canal, you could not ask for a more convenient location. You can walk to all the best restaurants and stores. We even walked to the train station, but I don't recommend doing that because our suitcases and the cobblestone... more
