The hotel is located right smack in the middle of Aix les Bains, very close to the casino and not far from the train stop. The hotel is also near many shops and cafes, but this also means the mornings can be noisey for late sleepers. From the outside, the building looks like it needs some upkeep, but this is the style of many of the buildings in the area. I was traveling alone, so the room was small and in decent condition. The decore style is circa 1970, and the bathroom lacked a stand up shower. The tub was adequate with a detachable shower head. This didn't bother me, but others may have a problem with that.

While the hotel building may not be perfect, the staff was wonderful and really friendly. Always helpful.

Rating this experience is tough. The building and layout: "okay" but the staff: "above average" if not "excellent". So I gave this a neutral overall rating. more
