Stayed here for one night prior to joining a cruise ship. Greeting at reception was great, room was spacious and we had a travel cot ready for us. Lunch was great and the service was impeccable. Disappointed the pool was closed and we were unable to use Sofitel pool as our child was under 7! Aircon was turned to heat only as it was winter and the room was stuffing so we were given a big industrial metal fan which worked a treat as we need to keep the room cool for the little one. Breakfast was a good selection, lots of choice and plenty for all dietary requirements. Would happily stay again, just when the pool is open.

We stayed here due to the area and ease of access to attractions such as the museums and harbour. Also dining choices and the hotel pool. It's a lovely hotel, well situated with spacious and lovely rooms. It has a great restaurant and bar and the staff are very friendly, Marina who checked us in was awesome. It is quite a way from the Railway station, but the taxi is not that expensive.

The hotel is modern and the reception, pool/bar area is all very nice. The big disappointment comes when you get to your floor. The landing carpets are disgusting and our bedroom 6408 looked like it hadn't been decorated for 30 years. The bedrooms are very tired and the carpets look dirty. We complained as the aircon also didn't work and we were moved into the Sofitel next door as they are both part of the Accor Group. Save yourself the hassle and book the Sofitel, its far superior and you can still use the Novatel Pool area which is better. PS - Be careful is Marseille and don't walk around wearing a nice watch. We didn't see anything but had loads of tips from other guests and the staff. I must say, the F&B Manager in the Novatel was really friendly and a really nice guy. Sorry, I cannot remember his name. Thanks.

My husband and I have come for a few days and we are currently still here; however, we have enjoyed the experience so much already that we wanted to write about it. The room is clean and there are extra little things in the room (like a sewing kit, vanity kit). The restaurant is great with an amazing view. The food is delicious and the staff that work there are so sweet and so friendly. Shout out to Julia, Sarah, Olivia and Armin (nice dance moves) for making our first night such a treat and so enjoyable. They kept us smiling. Julia, especially you, thank you for our wonderful evening. I highly recommend this hotel because the view, the service, and the people are worth it. Merci beaucoup!

One of the dirtiest hotels I’ve stayed at in Europe. We had to switch rooms multiple times due to air conditioning not working. The room we ended up with still felt incredibly warm the entire stay (mid June). In our second room, water was dripping from the ceiling. No offer to make it right with us other than a free drink (15€ value, based on what they’re charging) which was a little frustrating. For the state of the room, I would have expected a drop in price, free breakfast (42$ for two people for ONE day) or something! Location-wise, everything worth going to (fort st. Nicholas was closed) is about a 25 minute walk away, so factor that in. Also was told when asking to be switched away from a room that faced their trash bins, that there are only 10 rooms in the whole hotel that actually get to SEE the port, so you have a very low chance of seeing anything but the hotel next to you or the garbage. I wouldn’t waste my time with this hotel again. It is insulting to have such an outdated, old room be charged at the rate they charge. Worth spending more money to get to a nicer hotel or cheaper to stay outside the city in Aix and train in every day than to stay at a place like this.

The standards are not meet any expectations for 4 stars, especially for such a big chain like Accor it should be much higher than this. Everything in the classic room category is old and super dated: furniture is broken, the bed sheets are yellow from the numerous washings, sagging mattress, chipped doors, walls, wholes in the curtains, dirty chair and sofa (literally with the stains and scratches). Frankly speaking, don’t feel like to touch the surfaces. It feels like in a hostel room, 2 light spots in the room only, so just go to sleep after the sunset. Shower tap has an issue with the water mixer: it’s cold then suddenly it is very hot. Maybe it was a normal hotel with adequate level of cleanness, but it was 15 years ago, maybe more. The hotel desperately needs to be renovated asap. I got checked-in and went to my room, after first glance I realized there is completely nothing, only towels and liquid soap available. No bathrobes, no slippers, no simple electric kettle. AC doesn’t work (outside temperature is +23 C). Reception button on the phone not working. The number of reception written on the fire-alarm sign is wrong (just for another hotel). In case of emergency just help yourself. To make the story short, the reception offered me upgrade to Sofitel (next door 5-star-hotel, under the same hospitality group). They called me in 10 min and informed me that this “upgrade” will cost me 300€ per night instead of regular 400€. Basically, I was offered upgrade for my own money. Brilliant solution and after-sales service! Just a quick note I pay for my current stay in Novotel 186€ per night (special rate for Accor members fully prepaid 1 month in advance). After that I got a traditional excuse that all hotels in the city are fully booked. The next excuse was that the country where I came from has higher standards for the same category hotels :) and the French standards are like this. I love France and I know very well what I can expect. Firstly, I am not first time in France, secondly, even during this trip I stayed 4 nights in Cannes, but these two stays are completely different like night and day. Also I was offered to get a refund and just go and look for another hotel. Speechless. I am on my holidays, and my stay at Marseille is ruined completely.

We spent 3 nights in the hotel, which is located close to Pharo palace. The rooms are well equipped. We had a room at the 6th floor with windows overviewing the street with heavy traffic. Thus, it was difficult to sleep because of noise due to traffic in the street. We asked the person at the reception to change of room, but nothing was done. The breakfast was good. The restaurant has a view on the « vieux port » of Marseille Altogether, it is better to ask for a room not overviewing the road with heavy traffic

Simple room which is good for business. No luxury or no fancy but clean and simple. No bathtub, shower only. Shampoo and body soap, no rinse. Wifi connection was good. Breakfast is great. You can make your egg by yourself. The variety of breads. One headache was the Nestle coffee machine, which didn’t work for me every morning but you can ask staff to help you. The view from the restaurant is so nice, which makes your food tasty. One thing I didn’t like about the hotel is the door key. It didn’t work well and I needed to try again and again. This hotel is 1 minute away from the palace. Good to have a walk there!

The hotel is in a great location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area was the reason we booked this hotel and it was very handy. Bedrooms were really quiet with comfortable beds. They did feel a little tired but nothing dreadful.

Everything was nice - it's not very cheap, but you get a lot for your money. The room service did tidy up daily, you have a nice pool area and a nice outside bar with tasty drinks, food and a good view on the old harbour. Everything is air conditioned. The breakfast is expensive but it's worth - beautiful sunrise inclusive ;) Some issues (e.g. Check-in 20 minutes Delay) were equalized by a drink-coupon. Special equipment like babybed or babychair is present. English speaking skills of the employees could be a bit better
