This 2-star hotel is located in the center of the city. I got a small but clean room on the 5th floor and choosed to use the elevator. We just returned after spending New year's eve 2006 in Marseille. We spent 2 weeks in France and stayed in a few budget hotels. Hotel du Sud was definitely not the nicest. It is in a great location and has decent rates for Marseille - that is about all it had going for it. The staff was also very nice and accomodating.
