I stayed there 3 nights (22-23-24 June 2015. If you are alone and 90 Euro per night is not much for you go ahead! Very clean, very nice terrace overlooking the harbor but sound insulation is not very good. You may have to listen to the couples at the next room!

Location is everything with this little hotel, which is situated just off the Old Port (our room had a view of the port). The metro system is close by, and so are the buses that can take you down to the beaches or to the sights. The rooms are bright and clean, the air conditioning a blast of refreshing cold... More

Hotel Hermes was great. Very good value, right in the Vieux Port. We picked the Hotel Hermes for its location, price, roof terrace. and willingness to keep our luggage for the afternoon while we waited for a 4:00 pm cruise boarding. The polite, cheerful, and friendly staff speak much better English than our French, so we stuck to English. Love... More

A decent 2 stars hotel. You basically get what you pay for. Location is really good, and the rooftop terrace is awesome. Hotel says it is non-smoking, however my room had a strong cigarette smell as the previous guests had obviously smoked in the room. Unfortunately hotel was full and couldn't change room. (people, if you are a smoker, please... More

We purchased bus tickets online before we left the US, took the Airport bus (Navette Aeroport and you have to show your passport because you purchased your ticket online) to the St Charles train station 25 min €8.20. Then purchased a 48 hour transportation pass from the vending machines in the station with a chip credit card (you can do... More

I had almost given up finding an affordable hotel right on the Vieux Port until I stumbled across Hotel Hermes on the Internet. This is a charming small hotel with friendly smiling staff who immediately know all their guests by name. They couldn't have been more helpful in guiding us in our exploration of this wonderful and vibrant city. All... More

for the price we paid for this accommodation, we had the best price value ever. Central location, excellent customer service, top roof terrace & a suitable breakfast. My mum and I had a great stay. We had trouble to arrive in Marseille cause of the strikes, but the hotel dealt with it amazingly.

Hermes is a half-block away from the northern (and quieter) side of Marseille's old port. Most of the rooms have a lateral view of the port, if you lean out the window. Rooms are very simple but clean and comfortable, and the insulated windows exclude most traffic noise. The breakfast is satisfactory and there is free wifi. I have used... More

We stayed in this hotel at the very end of our summer trip. The staff here could not be more helpful- the ladies at reception were so helpful and friendly and the man in the evening was great as well, providing us with wine glasses as well as plates and cutlery for our supper. We had a terrace room which... More

We stayed here Summer 2013, and it was great. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Excellent location with a fantastic rooftop terrace with an amazing view of the old port. We took our breakfast (which was good) up to the roof in the morning, and then enjoyed the views at night with a bottle of wine - the... More
