Not much choice in Marseille but the Sofitel Luxury ticks most boxes for quality and service. Great room with balcony overlooking port. Spa still being refurbished. Did not try restaurant as seemed too fussy but plenty of choices in the port. Would stay again. more

The Sofitel Marseille deserves every one of its four stars, and more. We had a modestly priced upgrade to a spacious port-view room with wonderful views of the whole port and the city's three impressive forts. The hotel has an ultra-modern feel, and rooms are well-equipped (though charge a petty €4.50 an hour for wifi). The hotel offered free champagne... more

What a fabulous hotel. The view was fantastic as it has an elevated position that overlooks the old port.We had a room with a harbour view and large terrace with sun loungers and table and chairs, which was great as we admired the view whilst drinking champagne. It was also only a 15min walk into the main shopping area of Marseille We... more

Stayed 2 nights in superior queen, port view room. Just lovely! Comfy bed, super shower, very clean and welcoming. Breakfast buffet was pricey but good quality and can't beat the view over the port for ambiance. Would recommend to anyone going to Marseille. more

This hotel is in the midst of a renovation right now however the room we stayed in was completely renovated and was spectacular. From the view to the window between the 5 ft wide bath/shower to the furniture and amenities this room was wonderful. If you are a fan of the latest trend but still want comfort and elegance the... more

First of all, please note that the hotel is still under renovation for a major part of 2009. Reception staff is very nice & very professionnal, and the refurbished rooms are quite nice, with flat screen TV, modern bathroom (bath + shower) & Hermès (Eau d'orange verte) amenities. Airport transfer by car is only 50 Euros (daytime during the week)... more

Just had a three night stay during the EWEC conference. Although a bit on the expensive side, it offers quite a lott for its money. The staff was efficient but warm and welcoming. The restaurant was absolutely fabulous, both on views on the old harbour as on the creative gastronomy. The rooms were nice. Not spaceous bot large enough. Nice... more

Very nice hotel with new stylish rooms, although a bit small! I liked the Bose audio system and the rain shower! And offcourse the Sofitel beds...they are the best beds! Unfortunately they were renovating the lobby, bar and the whole ground floor area! Staff was very friendly...as you may expect with Sofitel prices! We only stayed 2 nights on 28/29th of Jan.... more

This hotel is a top class one. Four stars Luxe equals to five stars in France. Enough said about the location and the view, it is so fantastic ! The best moment to me wasn't actually at night, but in morning during breakfast in the "Trois Forts" restaurant. We were seating there, drinking coffe and enjoying the view ... The... more
