This hotel is very nice. Right on the port in Marseille and amongst the hussle & bussle of this cute town. Rooms are spacious and quite elegant, staff are very friendly even if you don't speak French (which we have found a bit of an issue elsewhere). The breakfast is brilliant and the restaurant overlooks the beautiful port, so very... More

Marseille has a reputation for being a rough-and-tumble port, but this hotel was a refuge of calm, old-world character, and charm, directly overlooking the old port and its marina. We had a beuatiful, well-appointed upper floor room, with a spectacular view of the port, the fortresses which guard the entrance, and the Mediterranean beyond. The staff were extremely solicitous, helpful,... More

We have visited Marseille a number of times over the last 10 years and have stayed at the Grand Hotel Beauvau on three of the occasions. the first two occasions the hotel was under the Mercure brand and now it hosts the MGallery banner. everything offered by the hotel is constant and perfect for a visit to Marseille- Professional staff... The hotel is old sure, but it has character and charm. The location is perfect, directly in front of the Vieux Port and right at the door step to all the shopping and many great restaurants. The bedroom and bathroom are large enough and well appointed. Sometimes I find it nice to get away from the large modern hotels and... More

The hotel is old and shows its age, but that can be interpreted as charm; the list of famous visitors in its long history is impressive. The location couldn't be better, directly on the Vieux Port and near most of the best restaurants in Marseille. We loved sitting in the bar, drinking a great cocktail made by an eager and... More

because it wasn't anything special and it should be for the price. I have to say that it's probably not my style of hotel but I didn't book it. Great location, right on the port and the rooms at the front look out over it. Would I come back with the Mrs, hmmm probably look for somewhere else a bit... More

We expected one of the grand old hotels and instead found a nice but faded older hotel on the waterfront in Marseilles. Had the staff been exceptionally pleasant, the included breakfast been above average or the rooms noteworthy, I would have been able to rate this higher. During the 3 days we were there the one computer in the lobby... More

Still not used to the French way of showing dates with the day first then the month so I made our reservation online for the wrong date and we arrived a day early. The front desk manager was so nice and even upgraded us to a waterfront suite. If you appreciate history this is the place for you. Lobby had... More

Crowded area and nicely updated hotel in a good location near the harbor. Obviously updated and modernized since Chopin's days!!! Great view from the compact but adequate room on the harbor side 3rd floor. Comfortable bed and speedy small elevator. Reasonable lobby to use their computer or sit and read. Was part of a package 2 week tour celebrating a... More

Even the EU Invoicing VAT rules says a intra community invoice must be without VAT, it looks that this hotel in Marseille is not within the EU as they say they must invoice with VAT. Room was average. The views of the room were an ugly patio to other rooms. Breakfast OK, although I expected better for being in France.... More
