I stayed here with my kids for one night during half term in May 2013. The entrance to the hotel is not so bad and the reception area is decent. the problem start when you start going upstairs. The carpet is very dirty, not cleaned and with paint stains although the walls did not seem freshly painted. The room was... More

I stayed at the hotel for 1 night in May 2013. I think i had the worst room in the entire hotel - it was at the very top, very steep steps, no lift - and i needed no other fitness activity other than those journeys up and down the stairs! The room had nothing but the bed, 1 chair... More

The Hotel Montgrand is very well located at one of the principal areas of Marseille. I stayed in a room with 3 more friends, and although being in reforming, the Hotel was very organized, with a good bathroom, good beds and heating. A helpful staff helped us to find our way to Basilique de Notre Dame de La Garde which... More

This hotel is very basic, about right for a 2 star. I stayed in a single room and it had everything I needed. The breakfast is very basic just a few croissants, dry toast, tea coffee, juice and cereal and that's it. Location is great just a few mins walk to estragin metro which can take you anywhere, and vieux... More

We booked this through hotels.com for the location (very close to the old port). The stair carpet was covered in paint, the interior was quite old and in need of redecoration. You could see that the hotel maybe once looked like the photos they publish, but it certainly doesn't now!!! My boyfriend was covered from head to toe in bed... More

Hello, We have considered your comments seriously when you visit us. Yes indeed, you have not been well received but know that bugs are generally bedstead other bagages. It' is a big problem to eradicate and we treated room by room. The nightman did not demonstrate professionalism and would have to find another superior class hotel. To date, we are renovating... More

Very small rooms; carpet on stairs dirty; no elevator for room on 4th floor; people helpful, though. The hotel is very basic, too basic for a 2 star hotel.

Checked into this joint this summer and made the mistake of paying in full before seeing the room. Ended up in a tiny room behind the check-in desk. I'm no fire inspector but it was apparent that there was no way out. Stay somewhere else.

Staff was polite and helpfull. Location is good. There are restourants and bars around. BUT, hotel building is very very old and looks like didn't renoveted for decades. The sheets are clean but the room doesn't feels clean. Iwouldn't stay there ıf I go to Marseilles again

I don't know what all the bad reviews are about - the worst part about this hotel is the fact that there is no lift. Otherwise, the hotel is a bit dated, but very charming. The hotel staff was pleasant when we checked in and staffed 24/7 - they even let us borrow a wine cork to drink in our... More

Stayed two nights in Hotel Montgrand and couldnt wait to leave. The room was dark, the plugs were dangerous and hanging off the wall, there was a huge gap between the doors/walls, our bathroom leaked, the shower door was broken, and our bathroom light did not work. Staff told us they has called out an electrician which turned out to... More
