We stayed 1 night in March, in 2 rooms. But we would have stayed MUCH longer if we had known how wonderful Odile and her house were! We found the place via satnav after 1 false start because we put the wrong street name in; it is located up a lane in a residential area, a few minutes walk from... More

The reality is even better than the pictures. We had two really spacious rooms with a large bathroom. Everything was clean, elegantly designed with charm and good taste. There is a lot of attention to detail. the owner is the perfect host. Warm, friendly and with excellent tips on where to visit in Marseille. She went out of her way... More

It took three minutes to feel at home. Odile, the proprietor is like your long lost aunt who is there to make it for you, specially. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The bathroom specious. The lounge and dinning room are cozy and the breakfast both tasty and elegant.

We drove to Marseille from St Tropez, GPS tooks us to the directions given. Driving down the alleyway you thought where were you going. Pushed the bell and Odile came and opened the gate to her lovely garden and home. What a wonderful surprise to find such a gem in the middle of Marseille. A fantastic B & B -... More

The pictures don't lie - this place is absolutely frist class and Odille, the owner of Les Acanthes, is a marvellous hostess. Welcoming, full of good advise and with an excellent taste. The house is just outside the city center, but with easy access by the Metro. We couldn't have come up with a better place to spend out days... More

My sister and I stayed at Les Acanthes for 5 nights in May 2012. We had a wonderful time in Marseille and Provence, and Les Acanthes made our trip perfect. The house is in a nice area in wonderful Marseille; you would never know you were in such a huge bustling city as the house is so secluded and peaceful.... More

Spent one night at this amazing B&B: loved everything about it, starting from an ingenious combination of historic detail and modern conveniences, including a fantastic bed, with Society linens (the best bed during our 12 day trip to France and we stayed at some fancy hotels) and a great French breakfast served with home-made honey and jams by Odile while... Staying in a 400 year old hunting lodge is quite an experience, especially when your host is so knowledgable, articulate, helpful and down-to-earth. The house is beautiful and speaks of its history without being at all pretentious; the grounds are private, well maintained and so peaceful. The dogs were a delight. But what makes this place so memorable and recommendable... More

A lovely oasis, beautiful garden, charming old house. Odile is a very gracious, welcoming host. Her small dogs and cats are very much part of the household and are well-behaved. It is VERY quiet here, in spite of being in a busy neighborhood, because the house is well back from the street and surrounded by garden. We had the room... More

I'm really sorry about this situation, but just for information, in 67 years my familly and me parked our vehicles there, it's the first time that something like this happened. Steals can arrive everywhere, but I can re-assure that this place is secure and quiet. Best More

This is a marvellous place for a stay at Marseille. It is close to the city (10 min by car or metro), but Cassis, Les Calanques, Aix or Salon en Provence are easily reachable as the motorway is close. The other reviews talked already about the atmosphere and flair of the house, there is only little to add. The house... More
