Le Ryad is in a perfect location to explore the heart of Marseille, beautifully decorated, and reasonably priced. The owner was very helpful and accomodating. Our room was quite spacious although noisy at night since it was on the street side. However, when we closed the windows it was very quiet. There are "ladies of the night" on this street... More

Stayed for a long weekend followed by a few days of business. Didn't want another night in a predictable famous name 5-star hotel. True - there is no lift (yet!). True - it may not be the most visually stunning street in France. But also true is that the room was very pleasant and spacious and the staff was incredibly... More

Thank you Stephen for your lovely comment. I cannot promise that there will be a lift one day in this hotel, because it could ruin the charm of the typical staircase. But we are always ready to help you carrying your luggage to your room. I will be very pleased to welcome you again. Warm regards. Walérie More

Stayed at Le Ryad in a mini suite for two nights and it has a lot going for it as a boutique hotel: the room was incredibly spacious, very bright and clean and beautifully designed (and the bed very soft and comfortable!); the service was impeccable; the garden in the back was a lovely and peaceful place to enjoy coffee... Having read the other TripAdvisor reviews, I felt reasonable happy to book here. The hotel was very central, not expensive and the rooms were carefully planned, but the real surprises were to in finding we were in a street of ladies of the night, compounded by a dead rat on the pavement outside and a major demolition job going on... The location is perfect, the room is really spacious, with air conditioning and separated toilet & shower . The beautiful garden in the ground floor really added a value to the hotel it self . No elevator in the hotel , no parking in the street , so you have to use the near by parking lot . There is... More

Our room was located on the fourth floor; so we were disappointed to find that there was no elevator. On the plus side, the receptionist carried our heavy bags up to the room and the WiFi was excellent. On the downside, we had to carry them back down in the morning. Also the room was very basic, with little space... More

I was at Ryad in July 2014, and had chosen the hotel by looking at the enthusiastic comments on Tripadvisor. We were somewhat deceived, because the place is nice but not exceptional. The photos are much better than reality. The hotel is in a small street on the upper side of La Canebiere, quite close to St Charles railway station.... More

The rooms are large and bright and clean, and decorated in the Moroccan style. The beds are comfortable and large. The bathrooms are fine although, typically for France, the bath was too small (squeezing 6'2" of Englishman into French bathtubs is a recurring problem in France). The owners and staff are charming and couldn't be more helpful, nothing is too much... More

The entrance was kind of let down. The family was wondering if this time, i have got them a raw deal. But once we were inside, it felt better. A private home, once, seems to have been converted to the best that was possible. Our Dupleix room was outside in the courtyard. The fresh paint could still be smelt. The... More

Had to go to Marseille unexpectedly & booked this room because it got good reviews on tripadvisor. As some people say it's not for everyone. But we are seasoned 60+ year old travelers so we aren't as picky & don't get as intimidated. Granted it's on a side street that can be a little iffy. I was glad I had... More
