My husband and I stayed three nights in this very, for Swedish, exotic hotel. The hotel is very well situated, within walking distance from train station and the harbour. Our orange room on first floor was big, well equipped with tasteful furniture. Very comfortable bed! Breakfast is delicious with inspiration from france and Marocko. Madame is very helpful and can... My wife and I spent 5 nights at Le Ryad while in Marseille. That gave us 4 full days to explore Marseilles and to venture out to the nearby cities of Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, and Arles by taking advantage of the rail system and train station about 1/2 mile away from the hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable overlooking the... More

Thank you Bob for your comment. I am glad that you are back at home safely. I like that you illustrate how Le Ryad is convenient to explore Marseille and the cities around, since it is so close to the station. And regarding the early breakfast the day when you left, it is just a pleasure to be helpful and... More

What a lovely place! I can't think of a thing I didn't like - although the stairs (I was on the fifth floor) might be strenuous for some visitors. Le Ryad is a few steps away from La Canebiére and a few minutes from le Vieux Port, but still very quiet. I never felt the location was unsafe. Garden and... More

Thank you for your comment. The team of Le Ryad is very happy that you liked the hotel. Our aim is that you feel comfortable in this unusual hotel. The patio is a jewel in the very center of the city and our guests enjoy its calm, whereas on La Canebiere, very close, it is so vibrant.. We hope that... More

Le Ryad is in a perfect location to explore the heart of Marseille, beautifully decorated, and reasonably priced. The owner was very helpful and accomodating. Our room was quite spacious although noisy at night since it was on the street side. However, when we closed the windows it was very quiet. There are "ladies of the night" on this street... More

Dear TalibaJamila, Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I see that you come from Morocco, and it makes me even more happy that you've appreciated your stay. Regarding breakfast, I can understand that you find it onerous, but there are fresh fruits and freshly squeezed oranges and if you eat everything, you will wait several hours... More

Stayed for a long weekend followed by a few days of business. Didn't want another night in a predictable famous name 5-star hotel. True - there is no lift (yet!). True - it may not be the most visually stunning street in France. But also true is that the room was very pleasant and spacious and the staff was incredibly... More

Thank you Stephen for your lovely comment. I cannot promise that there will be a lift one day in this hotel, because it could ruin the charm of the typical staircase. But we are always ready to help you carrying your luggage to your room. I will be very pleased to welcome you again. Warm regards. Walérie More

Stayed at Le Ryad in a mini suite for two nights and it has a lot going for it as a boutique hotel: the room was incredibly spacious, very bright and clean and beautifully designed (and the bed very soft and comfortable!); the service was impeccable; the garden in the back was a lovely and peaceful place to enjoy coffee... 3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2014

Having read the other TripAdvisor reviews, I felt reasonable happy to book here. The hotel was very central, not expensive and the rooms were carefully planned, but the real surprises were to in finding we were in a street of ladies of the night, compounded by a dead rat on the pavement outside and a major demolition job going on... The location is perfect, the room is really spacious, with air conditioning and separated toilet & shower . The beautiful garden in the ground floor really added a value to the hotel it self . No elevator in the hotel , no parking in the street , so you have to use the near by parking lot . There is... More

2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

Our room was located on the fourth floor; so we were disappointed to find that there was no elevator. On the plus side, the receptionist carried our heavy bags up to the room and the WiFi was excellent. On the downside, we had to carry them back down in the morning. Also the room was very basic, with little space... More

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

I was at Ryad in July 2014, and had chosen the hotel by looking at the enthusiastic comments on Tripadvisor. We were somewhat deceived, because the place is nice but not exceptional. The photos are much better than reality. The hotel is in a small street on the upper side of La Canebiere, quite close to St Charles railway station.... More
