We arrived before normal check-in time (4 pm) but received a warm, friendly welcome from Dee and Alex. Our rucksacks were taken up to our room, we were shown around and then served tea and toasted teacakes as we sat in armchairs in the residents lounge and enjoyed the views. Dee and Alex joined us for a nice chat, booked... More

Stayed during our Offa's Dyke walk. We were given toasted teacakes and tea on arrival which was very welcome. The room we had was great, comfortable, clean and with a wonderful bath.Views are magnificent. The breakfast we had was second to none (scrambled eggs and smoked salmon) as were the packed lunches. I would highly recommend this as a place to... More

Having just finished a 12 mile nightmare walking the penultimate leg of of the Offa's Dyke path this place was just heaven. Dee is fantastic. Warm, friendly and totally welcoming. My friend and i were greeted with tea and toasted fruit buns and more importantly a real desire to help us sort out our evening meal arrangements. The bedroom I... More

As our first night's stop this was a great start to our walk. Everything looked fresh & clean, nd the food was excellent. Easy 10 minute walk to the local pub, (via short-cut) where the food is also very good (Downing Arms). Made us feel welcome and fabulous views over the Welsh hills.

After almost 2 weeks walking and a whole range of assorted digs the VALESIDE shines out like a beacon. This isn't just a b&b, this is a b&b plus. A lovely warm welcome with a tray of tea and cake YUM. My room was large with a smashing en-suite shower room. The décor and furnishings are outstanding! Wet boots? Don't... More

My wife and I stayed three nights in August. Dee and Alex were fanatastic hosts, extemely welcoming and informative; providing a great service all round. The breakfasts were first rate, beds comfortable, rooms spotlessly clean and views outstanding.

My husband and I plus two friends arrived at Valeside drenched to the skin on our penultimate day of walking Offa's Dyke path. What a joy to be met by Alex and Dee and have all our wet clothes and boots taken away to dry. We were then treated to home-made cake and cups of tea in the beautiful triple-aspect... More
