I agree with most of the comments which is why we picked this hotel. However I am surprised no one has commented on the endless noise from other guests early in the mornings due to the antiquated key system used. Each door has a double locking system with jangling keys, this combined with thoughtless guests who rise at 7am and... More

We have read carefully the review about our closure system of the bedroom door and we regret all the trouble caused by the noise made with the key through the lock. This system is not old as you could get one of the most beautiful room at the "Hotel de la Darse", renovated and refurbished this winter (door and lock... More

The view from the second floor balcony is lovely - over the harbour and the bay of Villefrance across the Cap Ferrat. The room Is clean, comfortable and well decorated and the breakfast is fine. The problem is the noise. The maid starts vacuuming the adjacent rooms at 07.00 and the rooms have old fashioned double clanger key locks. Together... More

Our 8th trip to Villefranche, we've previously stayed a few times at Hotel Welcome and rented apartments etc. this time we tried the Darse for 6 nights - and so glad we did. The location is great - overlooking the harbour where all the boats are, and less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel around the front of... More

We really made the right call staying in Villefrance as our base for three days in the a nice area, and Hotel Darse was part of the success. Our balcony with a little bistro table and chairs overlooked the harbor and made for some delightful mornings and evenings. Just know that it's a hike to the main village. The walk... More

We visited in April before the season was too busy and were totally pleased with our choice. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk along a coastal path to the little town of Villefranche which is absolutely lovely. I agree with other comments about not having a lift - maybe they should have someone on hand to carry the cases... More

Great people working here. Good rooms and private feeling. Only bad thing is that there are no elevators. Have a nice trip. Reccomended to anyone. ...........:...................................................................

As others have said, this is a very clean, well-maintained two-star hotel in a great location - Rooms very clean, appear to have been updated fairly recently. - Fairly spacious room/bathroom. - Beds a little on the hard side but we had no problems getting a good rest on them (an area in which we're particularly fussy). - We had... It isn't that this hotel has the most updated amenities or accoutrements, but if you ask for a seaview ahead of time (we were on the 3rd floor) and are prepared to drag your suitcases up the stairs (and walk up each time you return), you will be rewarded by the most beautiful view, breeze, and sights. We encountered only... More

This hotel was fair for the price but the main saving grace was definitely the view from our balcony. We were on the top floor facing the harbor which was great. There is a street in front of the hotel with some general traffic noise but it was quiet in the room at night with the windows shut. Our room... More

This is a VERY clean two star basic hotel. I had a bad experience with one of the staff members, so I am somewhat jaded. Most of the staff was great. It is cheap enough, but there are some things to note. We did not have air conditioning. Ours was either broken or unable to turn on.we asked twice.i could... More
