Great little place, perfect for an 'over-nighter' close to airport. Staff very friendly, couldn't do enough when we explained that our bags were in a different time zone. I don't understand why some people expect the Ritz at Travelodge prices, it has a bar, it has a pool and it is clean. Free internet PC in reception was a God... more

Stayed for 7 days and on the night we arrived and not knowing where to eat, Ruth made some recommendations and actually drove us up to Vence, the local town, in her own car, showing us the best places to go and where to park! Useful hotel in the area, especially if you have a car as there is excellent... more

Arrived late to find no food available even though table d'hote is displayed boldly outside. We were shown to our tiny room and told it was about a half hour walk into town, what we weren't told was that the road was very busy sometimes with no pavement and no lights. On recommendation from our host we had booked a... more

The room booked was a twin rom, the lady upgraded to a triple room, it has a double bed and a standard single bed (not a childs bed). She did not see the original room so should not comment on it. The hotel is clearly advertised as without restauurant so that comment is not valid either. The rooms were refurnishd...

I spent 5 nights at this hotel during a recent work trip , and would never consider any other place. The rooms t,hough small are beautifully and cheerfully decorated, and the owners couldn't be more accomodating. If I were Michelin and they were a restaurant, I would give them a star! Great value for the money. Wi-fii was completely reliable( a... more

Stayed 28th June to 2nd July 2008. The previous reviews are spot on. Tom and Ruth were great, ordering taxis ,recommending restaurants and giving local advice on where to visit and park. The rooms are clean and well sized ,with the quietest air conditioning I've known. The breakfast is also a bargain for 9 euros, fresh croissants, pain aux raisin and chocolate, jams, and cereal and... more

Auberge des Crayons is great value for money. My room was cheerful and clean with an en suite bathroom, which was very small but the water was piping hot. I was worried that there would be a lot of noise from the nearby road but the nights were quiet. Best was the very friendly helpful couple who own the hotel.... more

I wish I had stayed here first, not my last night on the Cote d'Azur ! It was a relief finding comfortable charming accommodation with an opportunity to park my car (after driving through so many French villages that were a nightmare to find parking close-by to my accommodation, trust me an auberge with off-street parking is a real BONUS).... more

Come ci aspettavamo l'albergo è piccolo, spartano e pulito, ma vale quanto abbiamo pagato. La posizione è buona per visitare... more
