We went to Benkirai Restaurant for dinner tonight, 28.07.09, our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately it was a disaster, slow amatuerish service, overcooked sea bass, re heated duck, cold rice, petit fours just not edible. The best part of the meal was in fact the coffee. For the amount of m oney paid, this was a total disgrace. We ate here two... more

The ghost of South Beach Past must have designed this place. A little worn and funky attempt at modern, but the pool scene was a welcome oasis from the dueling billionaires in St. Tropez . Very good brunch included. And a lovely garden to add to the relaxation. A bit expensive for a locale that is not walking distance to... more

Great gem 5 mins outside of town and 5 mins from beach. Must drive as too far to walk to either, but they have a shuttle with pre set drop off points. Property and rooms are very modern and comfortable and doesn/t feel crowded. They charge too much for in hotel food and services (small breakfast for 2 was $80US),... more

When we booked 2 rooms at the hotel, we were seduced by the web site...When we arrived, it was really different. The rooms are really small. The Hotel is new, but the quality of the building was very cheap. Rooms are not so new, they look 10 years old. We could see 2 other rooms, they had the same problems... more

My husband and I stayed at the Benkirai the first week of September and we loved it. The staff was fantastic, so accommodating and very nice and friendly. The property was beautiful, especially the pool. The hotel itself is very modern and sleek, not your traditional hotel, so if that is what you are looking for, this isn't your place... more

Overall, the Benkirai was fine for a hotel in St Tropez. My husband and I didn't want to spend $1K/night to stay at Byblos so this was the best option. We were there in September and the hotel was dead! There were only a handful of people at the pool everyday. Overall, the service was good. The concierge was accomodating... more

When you pay 470 Euros for a 18 sqmm, incl. bathroom, below ground level, next to the laundry that operates (also) during the night, it's simply ... ridiculous. And for that price, they charge you a lot on top of that for breakfast. Not even central Tokyo is that expensive. They said this is a "designer" room (Jouin), well I... more

I recently stayed in this hotel for a 2 night week-end stay. The look of the hotel is great but when you practice it, it's different The location is nice (not so far from the village, a shuttle brings you to where you need to go, and one of the driver was excellent and above average of the overall staff). The... more

Interestingly enough there is a very fine chef at this hotel who is bringing in a smart crowd from the village. The food is Thai and quite spectacular for the most part if not exactly cheap. Worth a visit? Well, certainly but don't expect a smooth experience. The whole place simply falls down at the moment on its level of... more

Just renovated before we got there (we checked in the first week they re-opened), my partner and I found this hotel unbelievably excellent. You are paying a lot of money to stay here, so it might be okay to expect perfection, but if you are that kind of person you'll never be happy anywhere! The rooms are small, and there... more
