We spent a week at this Relais & Chateaux hotel in the beautiful village of Saint Paul de Vence. We had a Classic room which was perfectly adequate; it had a patio and small garden enclosed by a high hedge which gave a high level of privacy. The hotel is set in beatifully maintained grounds, and has a large heated pool.... more

Beautiful room in one of the farmhouse named wings - balcony with fabulous view of hills in the distance, very private too, not overlooked. Facilities all you would expect from a luxurious country house hotel anywhere in the world. Spa was welcoming and pool area a delight. Food outrageously expensive (€30 for croissant and coffee, anybody?). Access to St Paul... more

A new trend has recently developed (especially among high end establisments). They will retain on your credit card 50% of the cost of your stay at time of booking. Le mas de Pierre is one of them. As travellers, we must not accept this practice. After all, if management requires advance payments in order to support their activities in difficult... more

We just came back from spending a couple of nights at this hotel and were very pleased with our stay. It's apparent that many of the kinks that other reviewers mentioned have been ironed out. Every single staff member we encountered was gracious and welcoming. Note that this is the quintessential formal French hotel and as such, it is decidedly... more

You have to work out how to get through the locked gates in the dark at this time of year and once there the place seemed pretty empty. As it is new, its Belle Epoque styling is of course fake, and it does definitely look it. However, the facilities - swimming pool, spa, etc - all looked suitably luxurious. But... more

just back from le mas de pierre and loved, loved, loved it! I am a travel agent so have seen a LOT of hotels, this is my favorite so far. A georgeous boutique style hotel that whilst new really feels like an old French mansion when inside! The Spa offered a great range of services. The restaurant was pricey but... more

We have just returned from a 3 days stay at Le mas de Pierre. We had a fantastic stay. The room had all the comfort of home The forecasters had predicted heavy rain for the entire weekend, so we thought not a bad place to spend a rainy weekend. The bed was very comfortable, the decor was amazing, the room... more

We're just back from Mas de Pierre and still smiling. We stayed 3 days this week and adored our room, the pool, the staff, the setting. The dining room menu put us off with heady prices. We opted to go into the old town for bistro fare with lower sticker shock and delicious food. The gardens are as beautiful as... more

We are members of Relais & Chateaux so made the reservation through them. We liked the place, but we expected an old mansion and in fact it is a rather new hotel, although built in traditional style. They gave us a nice room (although we expected an upgrade that never realized) which had a small front garden for our dogs.... more
