Set back from the road on a busy street, the hotel has large, clean rooms. Ours had a great view. The public space are airy with interesting wall coverings, nice décor and great light from the large sky light on the top floor. The hotel is an easy walk to the north end of the old town. At the risk of my favourite hotel becoming hard to get a room in, I cannot recommend the Imperial highly enough. Do NOT expect an anodyne, same-as-any-hotel room. The Hotel Imperial was located for us by the owner of another hotel who was full up. Just three blocks away from Veux Nice and two easy blocks from the main Bus station, this was originally a mansion built by a rich industrialist in the late 19th century.
