This hotel is in a great location. We had a balcony room and could see the sea. It is just a short walk to the Promenade Des Anglais and is well served by buses. We did have to wander quite a bit to find a nice place to eat but that is the fun of being in Nice.

If you are looking for a clean, and reasonably priced hotel, this is a good deal. If you are counting on being able to use the Internet, sleeping on a decent mattress, or getting a few tips from the front desk, you might be better off looking elsewhere. Locarno was nice and clean, and we got the double room for... More

Very good value, we booked htis hotel in November and got an excellent rate. In fact they are a solid 15 minute along a main shopping street to the 'Old Nice City' which is where most people head to eat and drink. Hotel in just 125 metres from Promenade Des Anglais. Basic but spacious rooms. Number 23 bus to/from airport... More

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel in the center of Nice. The rooms were of an average side for a city center hotel. Our room had a balcony and the bathroom was well appointed. The breakfast was adequate, and the WiFi worked in the rooms. It was a short walk to the beach, or to the shopping area. The... More

Having stayed in Nice several times before, the Locarno was a good find. I could not fault the service at reception. English is spoken by some of the staff but not all. But, you are in France, and I always think it is fun to at least have a go at speaking the language! We had a triple room with... More

The rating of the hotel is wrong ! In rooms the furniture is old , the wall finishing is very poor , the sanitary fixtures are very old and low water pressure ! Some of receptionist have a non-professional behavior, non-communicative , even that is mandatory in this job !

We stayed for 2 nights in July, 2013. Our one queen bed room was really old and smelling cigarette. Although the breakfast was included in the rate, it was a very poor breakfast with bread and jam pretty much. For such price, the hotel could have been better. There was a very rude male receptionist with age about late 50s... More

Like the last man said the older reception lady mainly on duty in the afternoons came over as arrogant at most times and seemed really lazy. But then most of the drivers of the overcrowded buses seemed the same. I liked to ask them a simple question and watch them go into hysterics, ha, ha. However the location 5 mins... More

When we arrived at the hotel, we knew that it was a 3 stars hotel. So, you can expect 3 stars room. Everything is just ok: the bed, the bathroom, the showers. It's fair enough. BUT WAIT... The rudeness and lack of professionalism of the receptionist just makes everything a terrible experience. She will answer 'no' for all the questions... More

I stayed here for a week on business and while I was unimpressed at the start, this place grew on me. The decor's got a dingy charm (think 90's meets Fawlty Towers) that sets it apart from some other boring hotel. It's clean, well-located, comfortable, the staff are friendly, the price was reasonable and the shower in my room was... More
