The upside for us was location. We needed a place close to Nice Ville train station. It is about a 3 minute walk. Everything else was fine-nothing great, nothing too horrible. It's a bit of a walk down to the center of town and the beach, but a pleasant one. The setup of the rooms is nice, with the bathroom... more

This hotel is good if you want somewhere close to the train station but it isnt centrally located for a couple days in Nice. The reception were friendly and spoke english however the rooms were a little bit rundown. We stayed in this hotel over christmas and found it was a little cold when having a shower as the water... more

We stayed in the Hotel Medicis for 5 nights in September 08 and found it to be a good, clean little hotel. The reception staff are friendly and helpful and despite my poor attempts to communicate in French took pity on me and spoke English. It's a 20 minute walk to the pedestrianised streets and beach front - which I... more

The hotel is very convenient for the station and airport express bus stop but a noticeable walk from the promenade and old town - you might consider buying a book of tram tickets (runs from station to the old town) to save on a bit of shoe leather though it's not necessary. Our room was adequately sized and cheerfully decorated,... more

Thank you for your review, we appreciate very much all of a details you are providing us, it is very helpful for arranging the things the way it should be. When speaking about the some amenities such as tea cattle, we have to mention that it is forbidden to have ones in most French hotels, for the security reasons, to...

Once we had arrived finally (is bit of a nightmare to find if driving - be warned), we were really quickly dealt with given a pleasant enough room. Things were on the compact and slightly dated side, but all was clean so no complaints. The location is a little out of it but a ten min walk and you are... more

Thank you for your review, a city of Nice itself has been through a total reconstruction for the last 3 years due to posing of tramway tracks in the central areas and main streets. As the end of this reconstruction is scheduled to be for November 24th 2007, we hope that a next time it would be much easier for...

This hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the Gare de Nice-Ville train station. Excellent front desk staff. Room was much too small - no place to put luggage or hang up clothes, but room was very quiet. The shower was very small, but worked OK. Beds were hard as rocks. Had to use my old trick of putting... more

First let me say, this is a scary neighborhood at night, felt like French version of Harlem. Daytime, its actually not bad at all, and yes i will say that it is convenient to have the train station and tourist information office so close to the hotel. So if you happen to be cavorting to Cannes or Monaco and get... more

Thank you for your review, we appreciate your clear explanation of your impressions on our hotel. Nevertheless, there are certain points that should to be treated more profoundly in order to explain to our guests what might be a reason for certain misunderstanding. Our hotel Medicis is classified architectural monument dating from a beginning of a 20th century and it...

We have just returned from 4 nights in the Medicis - the end of a tour so we did not choose our hotel in Nice. It was honestly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Room 331 (to be avoided) was dark and over looked a narrow street. We were almost on speaking terms with the residents of the... more

I spent a week in Nice in August on holidays and decided to try the Medicis as I had read a couple of decent reviews about it . Overall I found the staff plesant and welcoming , happy to help despite the suffocating heat that Nice suffered in those first days of August . The hotel was full but yet... more
