Got a fantastic deal ( three nights for the price of two) on [----] at the Mercure Grimaldi Nice. Like the city itself, the hotel is undergoing some refurbishment. Flat-screen televisions and new AC were being added during my stay so there was quite a lot of noise. This aside, I could not really fault it as the main work was carried out during the day when the guests were out. My room, though a little
dated, was spacious, had lots of storage, two writing desks with chairs, and was spotless as was the bathroom. Tea/coffee making facilities are not available in the rooms but maybe this is the norm in France. Breakfast - included in the deal - was excellent with loads of choice.
