The hotel is the best crossover between a bed and breakfast and a small hotel. I stayed for three nights with my mother while on vacation. We had a nice room with a small room off the main room with a kitchenette and table. Breakfast was just what we wanted each morning to start our day. Location is great, and... More

Very nice Hotel in Nice! Small and friendly :) seven rooms with everything you need. Good and fast wifi internet. Nice area near the flower market. Good breakfast in the morning and very entrepreneur and friendly owner. Ask for tips and you get a lot of nice tips on the map.

A group of us were recently in Nice for a International Petanque tournament. We stayed at Hotel Victor Hugo for ten nights. We were greeted by Gilles and his furry companion Cosette. Gilles is so friendly helpful. His English is excellent and a lot of fun to visit with. Our room was clean, and comfortable. The breakfast room had everything... More

The room was well appointed and comfortable. But with any B&B it is all about the host and Gilles was very friendly and knowledgable and gave us a wealth of information about Nice. We also wanted to be thieves for the first time and steal Cosette (Gilles very affectionate dog) and take her back to Australia with us. The location... More

The Victor Hugo is a very nice place to stay it is walking distance to all the attractions and the main shopping strip and close to the railway station but not too close to be a nuisance. The accommodation was lovely the room was spacious and the kitchenette as great plenty of room. The bathroom was a bit small but... More

Because Victor Hugo has more than 5 rooms it is classified as a hotel under French law. However, it is essentially a B&B, run by the very personable Gilles and his friendly but hungry dog, Cosette. The rooms are a decent size; the bed was comfortable; the aircon worked ok; and the breakfasts were enjoyable. There is free Wi-Fi. You... More

We stayed for one night in September. It was just what we wanted, clean and comfortable with a very friendly welcome. Breakfast was simple, but tasty and did the job. Having a mini kitchen in the room was a real bonus, not that we used it, but I can imagine if you were here for a few nights it would... More

We received a very warm reception from Gilles on our arrival and he provided great advice throughout our stay. Cosette came to our door each morning to lead us to breakfast. Our room was spacious, with large glass doors opening out onto the beautiful trees on Victor Hugo Boulevard. This hotel is in a great location just outside of the... More

Just returned from a 5 night stay at The Victor Hugo and can honestly say that it was most enjoyable. The hotel is in an excellent location being only 5 minutes walk from the Promenade des Anglais, approx 7 minutes from Nice Ville train station and 15 minutes from the old town. Continental breakfast was sufficient with excellent coffee but... More

As other reviewers have stated the location of this hotel is the best. Gilles is amusing, helpful and the perfect host. The breakfast room is quite smail and really only fits 4 people. We were usually later risers so it was not a bother to us...love the Nespresso machine. We did get the last available room so knew from the... More
