We had a perfect couple of days in this hotel. The slightly shabby outside of the hotel one can see when using the side entrance, the old wooden shutters and the lack of air conditioning were a PLUS for us, adding to the charm and sense of history. I read a previous commentary and I cannot remember any problem with... More

St Paul represents a hotel in the grip of change as at August 2015. The meals are excellent overall, and I have never had a better Pork(Black Pig) Fillet with Sweet Potato in my life. The breakfast is quite simple and pleasant and the ambience with the alfresco area is excellent. I will return to see if things have changed... More

Let's start with the less good part. The rooms are basic, the bathrooms dated and the shower cubicles small. Shabby might be a good word to describe this, but nonetheless everything was clean. I have stayed here several times and the view over the harbour entrance is unbeatable from the sea view rooms. Some reports suggest poor television choice (not... More

This hotel is a conversion from an old Seminary. Rooms are very large with very high ceilings and louvered shuttered windows which go some way to off-set the fact that the rooms are not air-conditioned. With the small fan supplied we did sleep comfortably in the large bed even though temperatures were in the mid-thirties. Breakfast was very good but... More

If you want a hotel with air conditioning, swimming pool and a gym this is not the place for you! Instead each room has big windows which open out to take in the sea breezes. It is usually very peaceful in this neighbourhood and the beach is 3 mins away. It's a 20 min walk to the centre of town... More

When arriving at the hotel the large pink building gave the impression of a colonial one. However when seeing the chapel remnants it was definitely an old convent - the sparse nature of the room proved this. The hotel is set on a hill and it is a bit of a hike up the stairs or round the building to... More

This hotel has a great garden, fantastic view, and is situated on quite place close to the shore. The breakfast was fantastic, the personal - very polite. I expected more from the rooms, but it is not that bad for the price.

I cannot fault this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful, the breakfast was excellent and the dinner we had in the hotel was very good. I would agree with others that the bedrooms leave a lot to be desired. However with no a/c we were lucky that we had a corner room with two windows which helped. The bathroom was... More

I was worried when I saw the bad reviews, but the room was ok. No frills but clean.plenty of towels, soap and loo roll, replaced every day. Shame an effort wasn't made to improve the courtyard ? View, even a few pot plants would help. I was very relieved that the noisy ducting went off at night otherwise it would have been impossible to... More

This hotel seems to cop a lot of flack but generally I think it's pretty good value for money. Some points mentioned are true, the rooms aren't the largest, you can knock the shower tap with your butt, internet connectivity is a bit up & down, breakfast is extra and a sea view at an extra 20 Euros per night...
