We have been staying here for years and the rooms remain clean & comfortable & the staff friendly & helpful. Only complaint was that the TV this time was tiny (smaller than my laptop) & mounted high up near the ceiling, so uncomfortable to watch. Solution: don't watch the TV. more

Stayed here for a week in August, location ok, quite a distance from the beautiful old town. Rooms were clean, fresh towels everyday. Walls were very thin, heard other peoples conversations, dogs barking and wimpering. Staff in general were lovely, all spoke english. Beware of the night manager, who came across as grumpy, not happy to make drinks, service in... more

We stayed here in August for 2 nights. We wanted to stay in Menton as a base for visiting Monte Carlo and Italy. The hotel is on a main road opposite the sea. The road is not very busy so it's fine if your worried about road noise. Our sea facing room (no balcony) was ok, It was small and... more

I have been coming to this hotel since 1994. I originally found it by chance in a travel brochure when I was accompanying my partner on his business trip to Nice. Upon arrival we were placed in a back room on the first floor. We thoughtas we were on the front why not try for a sea view. We asked... more

We chose this hotel so as not to be staying in Monaco where hotels (along with many other things) have a habit of being over-inflated. We imagine this must have been a fairy grand hotel at some point in it's history and has faded somewhat over the years - much as menton itself has too. Overall we found the room... more

Do not be tempted to accept the ground floor rooms in this hotel. We had 3 sleepless nights because of constant noise from the nearby reception area. There should, at the very least, be a soundproof door between the two areas. The reception telephone rang intermittently all through the night and people were arriving and leaving at all hours. On... more

Rooms were fine, Hotel staff were helpful and considerate, Needed a lick of paint outside. There was no hotel parking; you parked outside on a busy road if you were lucky. The Hotel rented space to the dedicated restaurant and they should consider closely, whether they wish to remain associated with this restaurant. The restaurant was a third full when... more

i spent two nights here in April 2006 and was very happy with this hotel. The single rooms are quite large which is rare for European hotels and the price is very reasonable. The staff is helpful and the sea view is superb. My only criticism is that it is a little far from the center of Menton. It is a... more

Compared to the many other similarly priced hotels my family stayed in during our month-long trip (November) thru 3 countries, this place was fine. Terrific location (surfside), free curbside parking, congenial staff, walking distance to old town area attractions. The other reviews pretty much cover it all -- not 5 star but a 3 1/2 . Recommend asking for a... more

We stayed in the Best Western Hotel Prince de Galles hotel Menton in October this year and would agree with the other contributors that the rooms are very tiny. However they were comfortable and very clean. The staff were generally friendly and helpful with the exception of the restaurant waiter. This hotel is a little remote from the centre of... more
