It was an absolute delight to stay with Madame Sabine at L'Ombre du Palais. Not only did she cope magnificently with my need for gluten free food, she cooked the most amazing dinner which was served on her beautiful terrace overlooking the Palais. This is a unique place to stay. It is comfortable, quiet and perfectly positioned. But the best... More

Wonderful location. Madam Sabine was very nice but we were not relaxed in her property. LIghts on and off in halls and locking the front door were a problem. If you really love B&B's and don't need wifi, mini bar, safe you will love this place. Her assistant Madeline was the best.

Sabine is fantastique! She's received us late at night with a plate of fromages, vin & fruits. It was wonderful. Her place is right by the Palais, close to the Place de l'Horloge and good restaurants. She's recommended us L'Épicerie and it was really good.Room big, quiet, well decorated and clean. Thanks, Sabine!

Our group of four couples found this lovely spot as the hub of our trip to Provence. Not only was this chambre d'hote well-located to many of the towns we were interested in seeing, it was a beautiful respite in itself. The owner, Sabine Ferrand, and her lovely assistant, Madeline, did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome. We... More

A lovely house full of colour, history and personality, with a lot of France and more than a touch of Italy about it. It is perfectly located - you can walk everywhere - and Sabine, the proprietor, is in turn the perfect host with advice on everything that will enhance your stay. A fine breakfast too - not least for... More

When you think of the perfect B&B you consider location, beautiful rooms, delicious breakfasts and an owner who goes out of her way to make your stay memorable.......L'Hombre Du Palais fits the bill in every way. You overlook the Palace of the Popes; rooms are artful, colourful and tasteful; breakfasts are just delicious; and finally Sabine, the owner....the epitome of... More

My husband and I stayed at L'Ombre du Palais during our trip round Provence. You cannot fault L'Ombre for its fantastic location next to, and thus, amazing view of Les Palais des Papes. It was also helpful that the public car parking entrance was adjacent to the house. Sabine and Madeleine were incredibly welcoming and friendly and we very much... More

What an amazing experience! You must put Avignon on your "bucket list". We stayed three nights, but would have gladly stayed a week. Took the TGV from Paris to Avignon (approx 650km) in 2.5 hours.......gr8 experience. Met on arrival by a young lady from Provence Reservations who had a mini bus. Took us from the TGV station into the heart... More

We were fortunate enough to book the last couple of rooms for a summer weekend in this beautiful guest house. The decor was really charming, with a very individual style. We loved our home-made breakfast, especially the fruit compote. Sabine was very welcoming, and looked after us exceptionally well. We really appreciated her restaurant and touring tips. The hotel is... More

This gorgeous bnb is perfectly located at the doorstep of Palais du Papes. You could not ask for a better location, particularly if you are only in Avignon for a short period. Extremely close to all the restaurants and main tourist spots. Sabine, the host, was an absolute delight. She gave us all her recommendations for where to dine (and... More
