We stayed at Le Clos du Rempart for 4 nights and it was excellent base as we explored around Provence. The location was great - a 10minute walk to everything of interest including great restaurants. The house is beautiful with an amazing courtyard where we had breakfast every morning. It was the perfect place to get a bit of respite... more

Before we even arrived and saw the beautiful home, Aida was a terrific help to us, letting us know the best way to arrive from Paris. The home is in a great location, easy walk to anywhere in Avignon. Groceries, bars, restaurants within 3 blocks from the house. The apartment was spacious, clean, nicely decorated with original artwork painted by... more

This place was the highlight of the 5 places we stayed at during our trip around Provence. Aida was an excellent host and went out of her way to offer her guidance on every thing from restaurants to places to visit in provenece. She even let us park our car in her garage - offering to park it for us.... more

My family (adults) and I had the pleasure of spending a few days in Avignon and chose Le Clos du Rempart from reviews such as this. You never know for sure from reviews ... but from the moment Aida met us at the door and we walked into her striking home, we knew we had made the right decision. Aida's... more

What can be said that hasn’t already been said about Aida and Le Clos du Rempart? Not much, it really was as good as everyone says. We stayed in Avignon the first weekend in June of 2009. Cleanliness: Everything was very clean. Location: I love staying in residential areas in Europe – it gives you a much better feel for... more

A surprisingly roomy house in one of the narrow streets close to the old city wall - in a residential rather than tourist neighbourhood, but with restaurants and museums within 5 to 10 minutes walk - also the ferry to the island in the river. The sunny courtyard lives up to the website pictures, and gave shelter from the Mistral... more

My husband and I stayed in Le Clos du Rempart for 6 nights in April. Our hostess Aida is so kind and she made us feel like staying home. We stayed in the Palme room which is very spacious and clean. We so enjoyed the breakfast time, not only because Aida would prepare coffee, juice, yogurt, cereals, croissant, fruits...for us,... more

It is very hard to write a review for Le Clos du Remparts because I dare to say it has all been covered in previous postings.Glorious,calm,personable,charming,tranquil...and the list goes on. The entire package is made possible by the owner Aida. Putting together a B&B has been her dream, talk about dreams come true. Every area of the home has been graced... more

Our traveling style is to stay in one place for 7-9 nights and use it as a base for side trips by train or bus. We stayed at Clos du Rempart for 7 nights in March 2009. Looking at the map of Avignon you might think it is far from the central town but it isn’t at all. There are... more

We stayed at Le Clos du Rempart for 7 nights in March. 2009. It was wonderful. Madame Assad greeted us warmly upon arrival and had a bottle of wine, fresh fruit, milk, juice, bottled water, travel books of Provence, and a map of Avignon available to us. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment which was very spacious, particularly the... more
