Excellent location, in the heart of just about everything for tourists. But...my room was only very basic, the stone floor in my room was dirty and in three days never cleaned properly. Front desk staff were not helpful and the Internet in my room did not work. Breakfast was very poor-pastries, nothing more. Coffee was hard to come by. Redeeming... More

This was a 24 hour stop-over on the new Eurostar service before proceding to Nice. From the outside the hotel is not prepossessing, and even inside it lacks that spick and span professionalism modern travellers get used to. We had a first floor room 1Bis ( a superior room ). It was spotlessly clean, large double bed, well presented. It... More

This hotel is wonderfully located just across from the Palais des Papes. There are many restaurants and cafes just steps away and you can catch le petit train in the square at the palace. But - our room was on the first floor and was VERY small. The bed was made up for a couple (we are two women) and... More

We had a mixed experience. When we arrived we were met with the host who was wonderful, he made us feel like everything would go swimmingly. However when we checked in later we were shown to a room which was not the room I had expected since the website showed us a pic, of a room with a balcony! we... More

This could not be more central for all the sights in the centre of Avignon, and as such is a good bet for a short stay. Our room was very characterful, with tall windows looking out onto the Palais itself, and was perfectly comfortable, though it is altogether too loud outside to sleep with the windows open. Breakfast somewhat ordinaire;... More

This Hotel is right in the middle of everything and so very convenient to the attractions. The front desk was excellent and tried to help with each complaint. For the senior set...70 and over...it was a stretch to drag our luggage from the parking garage over cobble stone walk ways and stairs to our hotel. There are 2 mercury hotels... More

We stayed for a few days during a really hot period in June, and the cool stone walls were very welcome. Great central location directly opposite the Palais des Papes. This is an OLD building, and our room was on the small side. However, it was well appointed, and the aircon unit was a welcome modern touch. The hotel has... More

Interesting, very old building in good location near centre of town and opposite the Palais. Stayed one night and arrived in the middle of dinner on Saturday and restaurant busy so it took a bit of time to be dealt with but otherwise staff reasonably attentive. Our room (26) only had a view of an internal courtyard area and was... More

Loved the history of this hotel. It is my understanding that this building was in existence before the Palais des Papes was built in early 1300. Our room was large with a great view of a pedestrian mall with a plethora of sidewalk cafes. The bathroom was of a moderate size and clean. We were within walking distance of most historical... More

We were booked in here by friends. The reception and dining areas are beautiful. Breakfast was included and plentiful. Staff helpful. Our room was on the top floor and small, but comfortable, although there was no real wardrobe space and we had crowded the floor with our luggage we could not not get wifi on that floor. The bathroom was... More
