I am afraid to say that I cannot share any enthusiasm for this hotel. My room was booked for two because, as a single traveller, I do not wish to be shoehorned into a tiny space. Despite having booked five months ago and having paid the going rate up front, I was given a small dark double with brown walls... More

The hotel is really very centrally located just beside the central Place de l'Horloge. The parking is somewhat complicated to get to and especially from there back to the hotel, but Avignon is, thankfully, not that big a place. The rooms are quite small, typical for France, but clean and relatively quite if your room is not right above the... More

Hotel staff was good, breakfast was outstanding with great variety. The hotel room was small with "thin" walls. We could hear outside noise and ajoining rooms. The hotel appears to be a few buildings "massed" together. Lots of 2-3 steps up and down per floor. No parking near by. Closest car park in in main square parking. This is about... More

Very very small basic room, decent bathroom. Good location for visiting Avignon and sites within walls. Breakfast was fine but way overpriced. Service was acceptable, but restaurant recommendations proved to be disappointing. We had no coffee or tea making equipment in our room.

Excellent central location, across the street from numerous sidewalk cafes, near stores, and a couple blocks from the Palace of the Popes. Very well-maintained with nice atmosphere in public rooms. Only two things keep me from giving it an excellent rating. Our bed was small, an old-fashioned double rather than a king or queen. The breakfast buffet, although varied and... More

Lovely hotel right in the centre. Staff very helpful the rooms are very comfy and clean, great stay. Would stay here again. There are also lovely toiletries in the bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities.

We stayed for one night on our way to a river cruise. The staff was welcoming despite the many people checking in and out. Our room was on the 4th floor overlooking the plaza. With the window open you could hear the activity in the plaza which we didn't mind, coming from NY. This may not be an ideal room... More

Beyond an enviable center of town location near the Palais du Papes, it is walkable to all sights, restaurants & shopping within the heart of Avignon. The hotel has been beautifully renovated and the staff is tip top. No request is too small for their exemplary assistance.

We were allotted a charming second floor room on the corner overlooking the Place del'Horloge with a lovely vista of the bustling square shaded by plane trees. We ate in the square on both evenings, as there were plenty of restaurants to choose from, including a wacky Algerian one with delicious dishes. It is so pleasant to dine out of doors! Breakfast... More

My Wife and I stayed at the Hotel de l'Horologe in Avignon for 7 nights at the beginning of May 2015. We arrived by Eurostar from London direct. The hotel was a traditional and old building with lots of character, a little gem. Very well appointed, we had a double room on the third floor overlooking the hotel front. A... More
