Hotel d'lHorloge in Avignon is a poor choice to make when staying in central Avignon. The rates are high for what is on offer. We chose a traditional room which was a mistake. This room was very basic. There are two steps up into the bathroom from inside the room In addition, the trip from reception to the room on... More

This hotel is in the centre of Avignon and a 5 minute walk to the papal palace and museum. Room was on the 5th floor with a terrace. Clean and large room with large terrace with the sun on it all day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served but I never used it as I ate breakfast... More

The rooms are nice and comfortable but small. If you want fancy this is not your place but we had two rooms for two adults and two teenage children and it was a great hotel for us! We could walk to everything we wanted to see in Avignon and were also able to use the hotel as a base to... More

Having never reviewed anything on Trip Advisor, I feel compelled after such a bad experience to write one about this hotel. Booked two rooms, one was a privilege room with a terrace on Floor 5 and the other was a superior room on Floor 3. Floor 5 room - the terrace does not overlook Avignon unless you are at least... Although the rooms are small this is pretty typical of France. The breakfast was excellent, the location is right where you need to be and easy to reach from the train station. don't catch a cab! The front office staff were mostly Ok, the guys were a little off handish.

If you purchase a room of a four star hotel, you would expect that some basic criteria are guaranted: those obviously weren't and this is why I decided to write this review. The hotel is in a splendid position, just in the center of the city, five minutes from the Palace of Popes. This is the reason of the first... More

This hotel is part of a chain, but the staff here, from the chambermaids to the front desk staff are friendly, courteous, and intelligent. The room was as advertised, but the breakfast was a notch above. Their advice for shopping was helpful to my wallet. It is right of the main square below the one for the Papal Palace. We... More

This hotel in the middle of Old Avignon is comfortable, low-priced, and English-speaking. It's within immediate walking distance of the stuff you come to Avignon to see. Lots of restaurants nearby (it doesn't have one, but you can get breakfast next door). We arrived and left by taxi (16-18 Eur from the TGV station); had we arrived by car, I'm... More

I have rarely been disappointed with tripadvisor highly rated hotels, but this one has got to be my worst pick. I booked it at least 6 months ahead of time, requested and got the superior room. First impression was the lack of space. As soon as you enter, the reception area on the right seem very tight for the two... More

Avignon is a Unesco World Heritage city so anything within the walls is going to be a compromise. That said this was an individual hotel in the square containing the famous clock tower so convenient and accessible. Let down slightly by v small room with impractical terrace but otherwise ok. No restaurant but near to all levels of dining
