We stayed in the Hotel Danieli during the Avignon Theatre Festival during July, so I understand that the city was particularly crowded. My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights, 29th May-1st Jun to explore wonderful Avignon. The hotel is an old 17th century building, the operators are trying to improve it, but it was old and tired. First, everything in Avignon is beautifual and relaxing to me. And, the Hotel Danieli was a clean, extremely convenient and safe. That's all a solo female traveler on a budget can ask for.
