We paid 600E and 400E for two noisy rooms at the Hotel Europe. After a long trip from the United States we were eager to stay at the Hotel Europe and begin exploring Avignon and the south of France. Although we requested quiet rooms well in advance, our rooms were above the street--bars, restaurants, loud rhythmic music, traffic including motorcycles... More

One of the most delightful hotels we have ever stayed in; an unexpected gem. We were enchanted from the moment we walked through the delightful courtyard into Reception. We stayed in Room 118, which is a beautiful suite of impressive proportions, in which we were really comfortable (sweet terrace, double glazing, black-out curtains, reading lights, fabulous bathroom, good quality mattress... We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights during a holiday exploring the surrounding region. On arrival we were greeted by Lisa who offered a room upgrade, which we excepted and were very pleased we did. We had room 119, its big and it overlooks the square at the front of the hotel. The bed was one of the best... More

We stayed here last week. Our room was 117 - as soon as you walked in, you could smell musty mildew and dust. There was also a strange tiny courtyard space like a building void you could open out to with astroturf and a couple of tables and a drawing of a fake street view on the wall which was... More

After an excellent but simple meal in Paris we thought it's all down hill from here because i think the food in France has suffered a huge decline. We arrived in Avignon and got our concierge to book a table at Le Vieille Fontaine at the hotel de l'Europe. It looked good from the start. Lovely room - staff in... More

The Hotel 'd Europe is situated just inside the city wall adjacent to the Rhone River. If arriving by river cruise, it is a 5 minute walk rolling your own luggage. If by car, there is a very close public parking lot just outside the walls. An enclosed patio garden leads to the front door and reception area which is... More

In this tranquil courtyard under a gorgeous tree away from the tourist mayhem, we chose from a selection of lovely teas and enjoyed a delicious lemon tart, totally recommendable for afternoon tea or post dinner coffee! Service was just OK...

The hotel is lovely with a typical French feel. There is a small courtyard if one wants to have a drink , it is also within walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Rooms are pricey and the cheaper the room , the smaller it is. Some rooms are quite dated and need a revamp as they can be quite... More

We stayed at Hotel d'Europe for 2 nights at the end of a river cruise. The hotel is situated just inside the city walls, centrally located for walking to the historic centre. Our room was classically furnished, with a lofty beamed ceiling and chandelier. The bathroom was modern and well equipped. The room was quiet with the windows closed, but... More

We stayed at the Hotel d'Europe for two nights on our way from Burgundy and Provence to Barcelona. We chose this hotel partly for the location, as we were in Avignon during their famous summer theatre festival. We were a party of 2 adults and 2 children, and we stayed in a gorgeous suite, I think is was room 118.... More
