My husband and I stayed here as a last minute decision, after realizing we were just too tired to continue driving to Paris (from Italy). The hotel was pretty much booked, I gather. Our basic room (queen, I think; not a suite) was very small but nicely appointed. We paid around €360/night. The bathroom was probably the room's best feature.... More

When you stsy in the south of france, you must judge relative to other hotels in the south. Ok. Unless you are at a few rare places out in the luberon or at hotel du cap, etc, the choices are relatively few for luxury. Hotel d'europe goes up and down in service. Somthst is spotty. The bar menu and service... More

This hotel is very charming, has a wonderful courtyard, is perfectly located, but with its age comes the usual things you would expect: small rooms and poor sound insulation. Service was also good. If you are the type of person who would enjoy a B&B this is a good bet for you.

We stayed in this hotel on a two day leisure trip in mid January receiving a good room rate as it was out of season. We had read good reviews and were fascinated by the hotel's history. We feared it might be a bit stuffy or stand-offish but were delighted to be met with attentive and charming staff throughout the... More

I loved this hotel. It's old school and the rooms are awesome, spacious. Great location, friendly staff, excellent view from the room. I was there in March of 2012, so not a lot of other guests. I had dinner in the restaurant one night and it was excellent. I rode my bike up Mt. Ventoux while I was there and... More

We had one of the very reasonably priced rooms this hotel offers on top of all the fancier suites. The staff was very friendly, the room large, beautifully decorated and equipped with all modern conveniences. The hotel, being so old, is pretty much a museum with priceless rugs and memorabilia left behind by the likes of Charles Dickens. Location on... More

My husband and I stayed at this property as we toured Provence. It is well situated within walking distance of alll of the major sights. The atmosphere of the property is old world and dreamy. The hotel is in great condition, our room and bathroom was very spacious and comfortable. I do agree agree with one of the other reviewers... More

Hard to fault this hotel and it is correctly rated as one of the top hotels in France. Fortunately had an upgrade on arrival for a 3 day stay , which is always a nice way to start. Room was large, beautifully furnished, quiet with everything that can be expected in a 5 star hotel. Located within the walls of... More

This was our first stop in France before boarding Viking River Cruise. Staff were attentive and welcoming. Our room overlooked the courtyard and was perfect for our needs. My husband would agree with another reviewer that the bed needed a new mattress. We walked all over Avignon. Breakfast was more than adequate and the October weather was perfect for sitting... More

Wonderful hotel--worth the splurge. Personable and professional staff at the front desk, in the halls, in the dining room. Large and beautiful rooms. Beautiful courtyard--great for lunch in nice weather. Breakfast, when ordered a la carte, represented better than average value for an expensive hotel. We very much enjoyed our stay.
