Great old building with wide staircase to greet you home at night. No lift so if you have a problem with stairs get a room on the first floor. Our room on the third floor must have had 60 stairs for us to climb but we are fit travellers. But what a view from our room of the Papal Palace... More

Front desk at Medieval is as sharp as Rick Steves states. Great location in the heart of Avignon. They were great in accommodating a shift of my dates. Food recommendations they made were terrific. Service great, including maids. No noise issues. No elevator, so make sure you can tackle 1-3 flights of stairs.

Pros Public spaces small but well done Central location for walking to spots of interest Staff pleasant and efficient Clean Breakfast reasonable Free internet available but a bit flakey Cons Rooms small even the 'deluxe' room we were in. Bathrooms are closet sized and why you put a bath in a room this size rather than just a shower stall... More

Tucked at the side of a narrow 17th century street the hotel offers an interesting modern interior in an historic shell. The large staircase is very attractive and led to our room on the third floor. This was just about okay for size with a nice view over the pretty courtyard. The room facilities were very good with everything spotless.... More

Nice historical building, very friendly front desk staff, and excellent location. Relatively quiet side street. Very friendly to our son. Would recommend for families. Loved the firm beds in the room and it was good to have AC.

We stayed one night at this hotel and found it comfortable - though rather basic room fitments and furniture. The reception staff were very nice and helpful. The big bonus is to be staying in a building with history, interesting architecture, and in a good location - the downside is the dining area which is very small and cramped when... More

Note that the hotel does not have elevators, which is not written on the booking.com webpage! And the hotel has 3 floors. The receptionist was not kind and there was noone to help with the luggages. When we reminded him of something he does not like to remember, he felt pressure and raised his voice! The bed covers did not... More

We found the room to be nice though small. However, would llke to caution travellers who do not travel very light or have bad backs that the hotel does not have a lift and it was quite a task for may poor husband who had to lug our bags up to the third floor. Location is good - close to... More

We booked this hotel using reviews from Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. It is not a fancy boutique hotel but it is clean and comfortable, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It's location to the Palais des Papes and to cafes and restaurants is just a short walk and the streets were very well lit and safe... More

This hotel is a beautiful building in a lovely part of Avignon being very central and easy to find. Staff were very helpful and informative, room was a little cramped but definitely adequate with air conditioning and very clean. The bed was comfortable, and so long as your windows are closed the street noise if any wouldn't be a problem.... More
