Avignon is an old, old city - enclosed completely by its old castle walls. Without a doubt, all of its buildings are quite dated. Bristol is a dated property but has been modernized slightly. Our room: an old smell when we walked in. Not bad. Creaky floors. It was ok. It's old. Oddly, our room was super quiet even though... More

This hotel is in a great location, just opposite the tourist office and only 5 minutes from the train station. It is on the main road leading down to the pope palace. The hotel is clean and tidy, the rooms are large and well appointed. I stayed in a family room, and the bathroom came with both a shower and... More

The location is excellent (5 minutes from the gare), the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the room was very comfortable. A bit small, but still an excellent value. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a great little hotel near to the train station and a short walk from the main square, main attractions and Palace We didn't avail of breakfast due to the cost which is typical for hotels. You can get a better deal at any of the cafes close by, and the added benefit of being able to sit outside.

The Bristol is well located on the main street in Avignon, the staff is friendly, and it's adequate as a place to use as base camp for exploring the town, but if a hotel experience is part of what you're looking for, there are better options. The public area, such as it is, is drab and the bar area was... More

Chose this hotel because it was near the train station and central. Room was clean and staff helpful. Having just stayed in a smaller character hotel this was definitely a corporate-style hotel. Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the main street which meant some noise but it wasn't excessive and was interesting. The room had single beds when... More

Very basic room, not a lot of natural light, room was on an air shaft. Very clean, comfortable enough. Reception staff was helpful. Amazing location really close to the train station, perfect for day trips!

Pros: Central location, easy to walk around town. Friendly, helpful staff. Larger room than most European hotels. Great public rooms for TV watching and reading. Bathroom was large. Room and bath were kept clean. Con: A very old hotel that at times had a "musty" smell. Breakfast was not included, although it was offered daily. We ate the breakfast buffet... More

We stayed at the Bristol Hotel one night and chose it based on its location. It is located just inside the historic walled city, and is a short walk from the Central Train station and main sights, which is important to us. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. It has a small TV, mini bar,... More

We spent two nights here on a car trip through Provence - inside the historic walled city, The Bristol does not present an inviting exterior - however once you open the door and notice the entrance lobby hall and steps to reception you are hooked. On top of that there are so many comfortable lounge areas in which to relax... More
