First impressions were very good the hotel is part of an old monastery right in the heart of Avignon. The modern extension was completed about 20 years ago but it was architect designed and has stood the test of time. The rooms in the new section are larger and have enclosed balconies with views of the courtyard. Our biggest disappointment... More

Having stayed here before we knew it would be a good first stop on our tour. We were not disappointed. With the new rail shuttle from Avignon TGV to the city centre, it is well placed for arrival by international train. As we prefer the older style rooms we asked for one in the old part of the hotel and... More

This hotel is historical and peaceful, yet central. It is a good base from which to explore Provence by car as it has a large car park out the back and is very close to an entrance though the old town wall, so it is relatively easy to get in and out of. The rooms in the old part of... More

I had stayed here 15 years ago and recently returned with my boyfriend for one night. The location is great, within easy walking distance of the train station and the Papal Palace. The hotel, a former Jesuit seminary, is gorgeous. Check in and check out were quick. Our room was good, not spectacular. My two disappointments were that the restaurant,... More

This hotel is built in an old monastery and you can still feel the soothing calmness. Our room was sparse but well furnished with a lovely attached bathroom and an awesome shower and tub. The highlight was a huge window that opened to the courtyard. The courtyard had a fountain and huge ash trees that rustled in the wind. We... More

Hotel is within town walls and on quiet street just behind Main Street in town. Hotel is beautifully set in old monastery and very quiet comfortable and relaxing. We were in modern part of hotel and found the room to be very comfortable. We ate one night in the hotel and the food and service were excellent. Only minor blip... More

we were disappointed with our room as it felt we were in the servants quarter in a tiny room with very small window overlooking a roof. The shower was a trickle of water. The hotel was very quiet and nowhere comfortable to sit outside unless eating and the swimming pool was closed. The staff were polite and Henri was very... More

Great location inside the walled city. The hotel and courtyard have a great ambience. Breakfast was excellent and the staff helpful. We stayed in the new part of the hotel and were a little disappointed. The bathroom was very cramped and the toilet so small if I had been any taller I would have had trouble using it with the... This was an ideal hotel for the motor traveller. An easy walk to the Papal Palace, but also easy access to the ring road. If you intend to take day trips to other close by sites, you can't do better than the combination of centrality and road access. Guarded parking (extra fee), large and quiet rooms, fine dining room, helpful... More
