We really liked the hotel. We had a room in the old section and it was nice. Overlooked the cloister with plane trees. Room was clean and well appointed. Staff was very helpful. Location of hotel was perfect. Short walk to several cafés and restaurants, only 10-15 min walk to the Palace of the Popes. Avignon is a great city,... More

Here's the skinny - nice hotel, good location, LOVE the roof top pool. Enjoyed bottle of wine or champagne every evening at sunset. Although you are not supposed to bring glass on the roof. Great, secure parking. Some negatives - large rooms in new section but basicly beat iKea furniture. Air did not work well so some issues sleeping on... More

The hotel has excellent location and facilities. When we arrived, however, they had no rooms for us in spite of our confirmed reservation via Expedia. The staff found a room for the first night at another nearby hotel. They moved us to the Cloitre on the next day. They promised us various upgrades and amenities to make up the inconvenience.... We stayed twice at the Cloitre Saint Louis, before and after a bike trip and really enjoyed the big room, great showers and friendly atmosphere. The location was ideal for walking around Avignon and there is a bike rental station nearby. The rooms surround the courtyard and fountain which is great to leave the windows cracked and listen to.

We originally reserved another hotel, but for some reason, the room bookings were cancelled. Although the Hotel Cloitre St. Louis was more than our other hotel booking, it was worth it. The staff were very pleasant, and our rooms were comfortable, quiet and what you would expect from a premium hotel. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone... More

We stayed in the older part (didn't know there was a newer part) on the second floor. The room was up a short flight from the hall, then you walked into the room where the bathroom was at that level then another flight of stairs up to a lovely loft bedroom area. So that might pose a problem for those... More

This hotel was booked for us by Discover France, as part of a biking tour of Avignon. The hotel has an excellent location, just a few minutes walk from the Avignon train station, and just off the main street. The hotel is a former cloister, and is beautiful. The lobby, pool, eating areas, and rooms are all extremely nice. Our... More

Stayed at this hotel whilst travelling through France for 3 nights, we stayed in the new annex linked to the hotel in a larger than average room with reasonable high spec fittings and a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the courtyard. The hotel swimming pool is on the roof and a gym in the basement. The hotel is just... More

First, the good points: convenient location just inside the town walls, two blocks from the train station and within walking distance of the Tourist Information office, the Palace of the Popes and many restaurants. Pleasant, friendly staff. Beautiful building. Quiet room (though we were on the third floor, so no one staying over us). Next, the bad points: The pleasant,... More

Originally a Jewish Seminary, this hotel is centrally located in Avignon and thus close to the Palais des Popes, Pont d'Avignon, many other Avignon main attractions, as well as many restaurants. The rooms are spacious and are equipped with all modern conveniences.
