We were excited about our stay at Mas de la Chapelle based on their website however what we experienced was something less. We were looking for "French country charm" and found French country missing some charm. The hotel is difficult to find even with GPS. When we thought we had located the hotel we found a large steel gate with... More

A Historic property - a farmhouse grafted on to a very old Chapel just outside Arles. Our room was superb - huge, charming, antiques galore and lovely old pictures. Grounds were peaceful : ponds, statues, gardens. Is it being restored or running down ? .......hard to tell. Quite untidy. Breakfast is offered but no food, coffee or seemingly anything else.... Perhaps, happily, there were few guests left at the time of our end-of-season stay, for we felt as though we almost had this fascinating and attractive auberge to ourselves. It was as if we were transported to another world in time and space-- near Arles, yet removed from the concerns of daily life. An eclectic array of furnishings and an... More

Nice french "mas". But the service, the breakfast and the disponibility of the people is very very poor. And the train ... too close. Unfortunate because very beautiful place. More

Only one person at dark, gloomy desk who was attending to two French arriving guests. We were not greeted, welcomed, offered something to drink (hot day), asked to please have patience...nothing. Twenty minutes later she finally returned and we three were not happy. No one to help with bags; up a dark, winding staircase to a most unattractive room. Second... More

Stayed 2 nights, one in Indian room with heavy drapes etc which was dark and dusty and at 195 euros a night plus 14 euros for breakfast was far too much. Moved to better room on 1st floor and had a better night but had to kill 3 Mosquitos first and put up with train noise. On the plus side... More

My husband and I were very disappointed in our stay at Mas de la Chapelle. It looked great on the website. It was not well cleaned and the furniture was old and stained. The property has great potential, but it very overgrown and in need of much attention. More

Fountains, stone paths, animals, gardens, a pool... there were so many fun little corners on this property we were happy we chose it. When we stayed in Arles, we planned to tour some of the surronding areas (you MUST go to Pond du Guard). With that in mind, we had a car. As some have already said, this hotel is... More

For this price we expected something clean and reasonable. The "Superior Double Room" has no shower, is decorated with somewhere between "my maiden aunt tacky" and "deferred maintenance". The trains rumbling past drowned out the mosquitoes in the room - we left shortly after the first train went by. More

This hotel is absolutely charming, one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to and definitely one of a kind. Me and my husband spent 3 nights there and felt totally at home, actually I wish we could live in such a place all year round! The parc is beautiful and very romantic, very tranquil too. We didn't use... More
