We booked Le Regence while travelling Provence towns looking for a short visit to Arles’ roman ruins and a nice dinner. The convenient location allowed for walking distance to both objectives. Fortunately, our plan included only an overnight since accommodations were not inviting for a longer stay. Clearly in need of refurbishing, the two-star and rate combination appeared a bit... More

We loved staying at the Hotel Regence in Arles. Eric and Valerie were both exceedingly lovely proprietors, who were tremendously helpful to us in every way. They made our stay in Arles and our trips through Provence memorable. The rooms are well maintained, with great blinds that darken the room completely in the evenings. The only drawback was a showerhead... More

Originally booked Hotel du Forum (walked by it when we were there, way too close to that noisy plaza), but finalized on this no frills inn based on Rick Steves recommendation and this was wonderful - quiet, clean & what a view! We had two double beds, top floor, facing the river, the sunset view was JUST like van Gogh... More

It is easy for me to tell exactly who a recent reviewer when was describing when he/she was panning the lackadaisical, snooty service from the male desk man at this hotel. We missed our train because we did not receive our promised wake up call - spending 4 hours in the Marseilles train station rather than on the beach in... More

ir, we have noted your comments, we regret that your stay was unpleasant in our hotel, we always meet your demands. The automatic clock system called you 2 times to 5 minutes apart and you do not answer, we're sorry that you did not hear. To offer you a taxi or an alternative to go to Nice without wasting time... A gem of a hotel in a really good location inside the city walls -just. A traditional, family run and friendly hotel at a very reasonable price. A short walk to all the main tourist sites, the station, restaurants and shops. Parking is plentiful and free on the other side of the city wall, which is a bonus in this... More

Excellent hotel situated just inside the city walls, on the frontage to the Rhone.Eric and his wife are so friendly and helpful with regard to more than just the hotel. We had roon 19 on second floor which faced over the Rhone. Excellent size, good en-suite. Always kept very clean . Really nice to come back to and always very... More

For the river location and price and cleanliness and freindliness and helpfulness, this hotel was excellent. This was a favorite hotel. The room was good sized, the bedding was comfortable, the bathroom was the largest and cleanest and with the most fantastic river picture-window view with privacy screens to pull down. We paid a bit extra for the front river... More

The hotel itself is fine, rooms very "cozy". We had a room that faced the Rhone, which was nice. We were close to the train station and most historical and museum sights. There is no lift. We rented bikes from the hotel, which was very reasonable, 1 euro an hour. But we asked if we could ride to the Camargue... More

Looking at the outside photo of the hotel (I was on booking.com) I skipped over it as I was looking for 'charm'. A friend said 'no, check it out' so I went to Tripadvisor for the reviews. It may look uninteresting from the outside but the room we booked, the location and the hospitality were terrific. Everywhere walkable and, at... More

I would give it 5 stars if it had an elevator (or at least a dumb waiter that would carry luggage). Hosts were very friendly and spoke very good English. Parking was fairly easy and it is in a quiet location. I thought breakfast was very good value for 7 Euros.
