This hotel is an architectural gem…Located not far from the Rhone River and newly built Van Gogh museum, the hotel was formerly a 16th century castle built on the foundation of a 4th century Roman Bascilica…. some of the stone work from the Bascilica are exposed and framed in various corner rooms. Hotel D'Arlatan in Arles, France offers charm and... More

Stayed for 2 nights last week in Room 1Bis. The room was enormous with a lovely high ceiling, overlooking the inner courtyard. Bed was huge and very comfy. Hotel staff were very pleasant but I can't comment on breakfast as we never had it. Overall a very pleasant stay and I would return if in Arles again.

We arrived at the hotel a few hours before the official check-in time and received a firm "no room until 3pm!" Ok, no problem, the hotel is nicely located in the main core so we left to check out the Ancient Theatre and the Amphitheatre. There was no problem wasting a few hours but when we returned at check-in time,... More

Wonderful hotel. Have stayed here twice and loved staying in the new section overlooking the courtyard. Both times we were lucky to get a balcony. The pool is amazing and the staff is very accommodating and friendly. I was also pleased to see that they put in showers in the rooms. I did find on my second visit that it... More

Center of town, right off principal square, this is simply a unique property. Very old buildings, crafted into authentic, no-two-rooms-alike hotel. Not cookie cutter, not Marriott. Gorgeous courtyard, beautiful small pool, lovely breakfast, pleasant staff. Nice bath, hot water, good A/C, fine bedding. Steps from everything old town about Arles. A terrific "find."

My parents have stayed at Hotel d'Arlatan for 30 years and my dad took me back after a 10 year break this past month. From the delicious breakfast of such a wide variety - eggs, meat, cheese, yogurt, fruit, pastries, etc - to the charming garden areas and pool, our stay was incredible. The staff was very welcoming and friendly.... More

We were here for a week and found the staff to be amazing. We liked having cheese and wine in the beautiful courtyard...we bought our own. The location was perfect to walk every place. The room was large and appreciated the elevator and parking.

Just stayed for four nights. I found the hotel to be quite good and the location in Arles about perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was quite large. I believe Rick Steves used the term "faded elegance" and I would concur. This is not luxury but it was very functional, clean, and true to its location... More

I did a thorough research of in-town hotels and really wanted to stay at this one mainly because of it's rich history and interesting rooms. The perplexing issue however was not being able to choose and book directly online. I had booked the Hotel Ampitheater online as a backup in case my attempts at choosing a specific room at Hotel... Is that a museum? is it an hotel? it is both, an hotel museum who can propose quite good size room for an affordable rate as a three star hotel within the old roman city of arles. Parking is small but there is a valet service taking care of your car, nice. breakfast is simple, a bit exotic, but good... More
